notes
"90 Days in May" is S.J.'s first solo project.
Cut from a cloth of musical sensitivity, and a little bit of sass, S.J.'s goal is always to weave an original mix of tradition with her fresh new perspective.
From swingin' hard on the blues-shuffle "Oh Gee!" to the intimate yet soulful ballad "Where Do We Start?", S.J.'s voice and heart stay true to each musical moment, accentuated by her tasteful and original arrangements.
Recorded in Seattle, Wa. in summer 2001, the CD features Matthew P. Selby on piano, Ben Thomas on drums/percussion, Rick White on electric bass, and special guest artists Jan Hasman on tenor sax and B-3 hammond, and singers Greg Whipple and Carl Connor-Kelley on gospel-inspired background vocals.
