notes
"Rugged and raw, really good rock and roll is what this band brings to the table. This self released album is better than some major label releases recently..." - Geoff Dellinger (Entertainment World)
"The listener almost can't help but get lost in "Made to Bleed"..." - Paul Lane (Night and Day)
Throughout life, the connection between people can become broken by circumstance. Love and relationships can be destroyed by the distance between souls, and when the ability to re-connect is lost we drift apart. In order to fight through, a common ground must be established. The music of Sixpin is dedicated to creating that common ground; that place where everyone can feel that they are a part of something great. Once a connection is made, the possibilies are endless...
Every person in every walk of life travels a different road. More often than not, though, these seemingly independent people are in fact connected by the world around them. The things, places and issues surrounding us all are what makes us one thing: human. These are the things that inspire Sixpin to create their unique brand powerful, creative and energetic music.
Made to bleed is the bands debut effort and has recieved rave reviews by critics and peers alike. Each song taps into a world all its own and sheds light on questions, and questions things that seem all-to-clear.
All are welcome to stand with Sixpin and find a new connection to the world that is right in front of us. The message is clear, and the connection is made...

Hard - Melodic - GREAT!!!!
author: BaktusWhats the difference between sixpin and a really famous heavy-rock band??? Just a contract!! With this record sixpin must get a record deal or i am going to eat my shoes!!! In these days its really hard to write a record without coping some bands and styles. So these Lockport-Rockers have a real proper style and it sounds just so so great. I live in Barcelona - Spain and i ordered the record from the states just to have the authentic one in my hands - this record is just great!!

It's rare to hear a hard rock band that can take the "generic" out of the genre.
author: H.I.T. ManagementIt's rare to hear a hard rock band that can take the "generic" out of the genre. Sixpin's "Made to Bleed" accomplishes this with flying colors! While each track has a place on modern rock radio, none of them seem to be destined for the one-hit-wonder bin. There are so many sounds and influences that can be heard throughout "Made to Bleed, " the album sounds uniquely Sixpin....not a quality many hard-rockes of late posess.
Lockport-based rock band Sixpin has finally released its debut album...
author: Paul Lane (Night and Day magazine)Listen up The week in new music BY PAUL LANE Night & Day Sixpin “Made to Bleed” Lockport-based rock band Sixpin has finally released its debut album, “Made to Bleed,” some three years after the band formed. Any rock fan will find the CD worth the wait. Sixpin’s sound is simple and guitar-driven. One of the better songs on the album, “Shatterborn” (which is getting rave Internet reviews), features a syncopated, snare-heavy sound that reminds the listener of Nickleback. Other tracks, such as “Closure of Ashes,” have a Staind-like feel to them. But while the band draws upon these and other styles, such as Sevendust and Evanescence, there’s enough originality there to make this album unique. Singer/guitarist Andrew Mitchell creates a hypnotic sound on the guitar. His vocals, meanwhile, conjure images of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington. Drummer Jared Enderton and bassist Rob Udell do a solid job backing Mitchell up, with an especially strong performance by Enderton on the opening to “Shatterborn.” The listener almost can’t help but get lost in “Made to Bleed,” which was recorded at The Digital Barn in Wilson. It offers a near-perfect mix of sounds — not as harsh as hard rockers like Korn, but not nearly as soft as much of what’s offered on rock radio. Whether Sixpin finds a place on the radio is unknown, but the band certainly should be on the airwaves. Sixpin, which formed in 2003 and has been playing shows since 2004, has started touring in support of its freshman album. The band will host a CD release party Saturday at Club Diablo in Buffalo, and follows that up with a free show at Niagara County Community College next week before going to Ithaca and Ohio. — Paul Lane
