CD IN STOCK. ORDER NOW. Will ship immediately.

Funk, jazz, and blues, fun and serious.

notes

Tyrone Shuz & His Funky Bluz are a fun outfit of serious players. Tyrone pulls from his many influences, both old and new, for his maiden effort. Anything funky, swingin', or otherwise groovin' is fair game. The samples speak for themselves, which is why they are almost all included.

Ooh, Lordy! Is it legal to have so much funk on one CD? I need to lie down for a while.

Heard Fiester playing with Slim Chance! He burned through Scuttle-Buttin! Made me think SRV was "in the house"!

One of the most surprising works I've heard in many many years. My first listen to Tyrone Shuz and his Funky Blues took me back to the time when I first heard Big Pink from The Band. It was different and I hung on every cut. A truly splendid effort from a gifted artist. I'm already looking forward to the next CD.

  • NICEY!!!!!!

Plain and simple - Tyrone Smokes!! He's as good as anybody out there, and if you don't believe me, check out this record. Great mix of material, great band, etc. My only complaint (and it's minor) is that I wish he would pull back more when he sings. But you don't buy a CD like this for the singing anyway! Cheers and God Bless, Mr. Shuz!

  • Why isn't this guy famous ?

I bought it because I liked the cover pic. This dude can play. If anyone knows of any other CD's by him, buy them before I do. As mentioned already, variety is what makes this disc a pleasure to listen to.

  • Tyrone doesn't just play tasty riffs

He also writes some good tunes on this CD and shows a lot of variety in his music that he's chosen for this debut. My favorite is "Brown Truck Blues", but his cover of "Will It Go Round In Circles" is one of the better cover versions I've heard of this tune. From the opening bass poppin' title track to the end, Tyrone demonstrates his tasty chops and superb phrasing in a variety of styles.

  • Great Funky First Effort Nets Numerous Fans!

A great long-awaited effort from one of D.C.'s finest guitar-slingers! There is a lot here, worthy of repeated listenings to get the full impact of not only a great guitar player;but also a great, tight band. ( Thanks Joe Martone,B.T. Richardson, and Karl Franklin!) I like the light jazzy stuff the best, but Angel got me right in the heart....In fact, I loved 10 out of 12 tracks, and liked the other two! I want to hear Ty plug into some blues.....stretch out a Stratocaster and make it walk, talk and shock!
