Soundscapes and Modern Tales presents a vast collection of analog instruments, rich soundscapes, psychedelic complexity and, the most difficult, well-crafted compositions, with a strong presence of ethnic elements and atmosphere.

When listening to this album, you are transported to another realm. One where you may start to believe in small gray creatures with large heads, where alien choirs sing, and the otherworldliness is palpable. Soundscapes and Modern Tales is a masterpiece of electronic/analog music as each song reveals different moods, styles of arrangement, and little stories to tell. A definite "essential" in any psy-chill-ambient lover's collection!

A wonderful CD, full of magic and fantastic moods.

  • Very spacey. An awsome collection of music.

I love the first track, and how it tells the story of the small gray creatures... so much so that I was compelled to google stories about these creatures. From a musical stand point though, the sound is very atmospheric and spacey at times, which is what I enjoy. I'd suggest this album to both first-time buyers of psy ambient as well as psy ambient veterans.

  • Brilliant psychedellic downtempo !

I know that so many people compare Shulman with SHPONGLE, but actually, his style is still his own. The similarity really only exists with the use of ethnic instrumentation. To even come close to Shpongle in style and idea is a compilment ! That being said, this album holds its own. Fantastic dub and downtempo saturated by psychedellia ! A must own !!!!
