notes
This Dallas based vocalist has been an entertainer since her opening at "Miss Brady's Kinder School." She proudly sang God Bless America for the school's graduation and has not stopped since. The daughter of a teacher and a police office, Sherry took the unexpected career path of a vocal performer.
Sherry's professional music career began with the international cast of "Up With People". In order to continue her career, she started her own band and named the band after her daughter, Christal. Crystal's Image entertained throughout the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex area until Sherry was hired by a local band called Custom Made. This musical journey gave Sherry the opportunity to open for Frankie Avalon, Four Tops, Beach Boys, and the Pointer Sisters. In addition, she did an incredible impersonation of "Tina Turner."
Sherry is not only a vocalist with the "voice of an angel", she is an aspiring actress. As a member of the Actor Equity Association, she has had the opportunity to work at Dallas Theatre Center, Theatre Three, North Shore Musical Theatre, and Casa Manana. She has appeared in Into the Woods, as the Witch; Six Women with Brain Death, as Woman #4; Joe Turner's Come and Gone, as Martha Loomis and Nunsense as Robert Anne.
After a hiatus from performing, Sherry Boyd has returned to release her first Christmas CD, Rejoicing His Birth. An innovative vocalist, Sherry R. Boyd maintains a highly successful career at North Lake College while continuing to explore and challenge herself in a wide range of musical styles.
