notes

Sherrie Adams is a well respected fixture on the Chicago music scene and is a member of SAG/AFTRA. Sherrie is known for her songwriting, commercial jingles (McDonald’s, State Farm, Coors) and intense energy. Sherrie has toured worldwide, performed #1 hip-hop songs, sold thousands of CD’s, signed thousands of autographs, has given interviews and photo shoots for major radio stations and magazines, and has played over 500 shows with audiences over 10,000. Sherrie has performed in countries including: Germany, Russia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, La Reunion Island (Africa), and in the Caribbean.

“When Sherrie enters a room, people have to turn around because her energy is so intense! She has real star quality; we clicked from day one songwriting together. I wouldn’t have written 12 songs with her if there wasn’t something special there.” - John Soroka (Songwriter)

Sherrie’s first love is writing and performing pop/rock music. She has recorded with some of the most talented and esteemed musicians and producers in Chicago and has selected the top songs out of 45 recordings, all by the age of 25. These recordings feature the talents of: drummer Steve Gillis (Filter), bassist John Brandt (Cheap Trick), keyboardist John Soroka (Ministry), producer Charlie Rosario (Baby Face, Jessica Simpson), producer Larry Sturm (Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Beyonce).

“I was Sherrie’s engineer on her first demo when she was 13 years old. It is truly remarkable to see her blossom into such a prolific singer/songwriter. It is evident on songs like “She’s So Easy” and “Sweet Nicole” that she has great pop sensibility and is a true artist.” - Peter Mokran (Producer)

“Sherrie is one of the best undiscovered songwriters I've come across. Her sense of structure and melody is truly amazing. It's only a matter of time before she's the next big thing.” - Jacob Bunton (Singer/Songwriter, Lynam)

“Sweet Nicole” has already won the respect of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences), the organization responsible for The Grammy Awards. It was one of the songs chosen by Shawn Murphy (ASCAP), David Leonard (Jeff McClusky & Associates) and many more out of thousands entered in a Grammy songwriting contest.

“Sweet Nicole is a hit.” - John Kalodner (A&R)

“Sherrie is an unbelievable live performer. She is a powerhouse; in this day and age of studio trickery, she is one of the few young artists I’ve seen that’s better live than she is on her recordings! She’s got real rockstar appeal and true grit.” - Joey Donatello (Producer)

Building on her success, the next 12 months should prove even more exciting for Sherrie. Once people experience her well-crafted songs, her edgy, yet feminine vocals, absorb her infectious melodies, and internalize her clever and provocative lyrics, there’s no doubt her career will explode!

it is quite surprisingly good. Many good songs with very good words. I think she has a good view on things and puts things in a way i can relate to. Really sweet little girl voice is very charming too.

a little too catchy and pop-commercial for me but still very good. i would like it to be a 12 song cd so i can hear more songs in a thematic album type of presentation. her website has some rock stuff that is less commercail and it is better because it is less commercial. i give this CD 3- stars but if she put out a rock album i'd give it 5.

This CD is extremly awesome and catchy. I went to this artists website just to browse and I was on it for over an hour! I like to "know" the artist when I buy a CD. Sherrie Adams is really talented and insightful. Go to her site, read the "my story" and "rants and raves"... see for yourself...genius...really...I am not kidding. Experience her. The CD is amazing. I just bought it and I can't wait to get it! Hey get it? It's called "Get it!" I LOVE the song On My Side. It is totally inspiring and she has a line in it that says "some would say my life's a waste and some would say I've got it made" I can toally relate to that. i would give this CD 7 stars if I could!

This CD has the shimer of a timeless classic. Never a slave to what's considered en vogue musically, Sherrie Adams has written the songs on Get It from the heart and it's a heart of intellect, introspection and a keen sense of the human spirit. Her songs are chock full of life lessons laced like beautiful silk ribbons around and through extremely pleasing melodies, harmonies and creative chord progressions. She accomplishes this with aplomb while remaining free of the preachy pedantry so common in lesser artists. Why haven't you purchased this CD yet? Do it NOW!

I like the song She's so easy. It sounds like it is really a timeless pop/country song. She has has alot of country influence in her music on this CD. I think she is a great writer. She is probably a better writer than most people on the radio.

I really really love the song sweet nicole. It sounds like a song you've heard before, like maybe it is a remake but you know it's not ...very good song and great voice.

  • i thought it was honest and catchy. interesting lyrics.

I could see myself listening to it on the radio if it came on and knowing all the words. I think her down to earth vibe is refreshing in a world of bling- bling and fakeness. She is obviously smart and real.
