Sheri (Shah-ree) was born in Jamaica, Queens in the city of New York. Her interest in music started when she was a child. She can recall many times at her family gatherings, her brother playing the piano, while she and her other family members would sing and harmonize. As a child she would watch her mother sing to the Glory of the Lord, and in doing so she muscially and spiritually absorbed all that she could.
Being reared up in church she often got the opportunity to sing in church choirs, starting with children choirs. The older she got, the more interested she became in singing and music.
She was accepted into the High School of Music and Art where she kept herself surrounded with music. She joined a gospel group/band, and because of her ability to hear harmonies and arrange music, she was asked to be the musical director. Later she was asked to be the musical director of her church choir.
Sheri sang on several jingles (national and international), such as Coke, Gatorade, Posner Hair Products, and others. She toured nationally and internationally with Freddie Jackson and during her musical experiences she was blessed to have shared the stage with many greats, such as Gladys Knight, Dru Hill, Ann Nesby (formally of Sounds of Blackness), Tom Browne, Mighty Clouds of Joy, CeCe Winans, Dennis Edwards, O'Jays, Silk, Jeffrey Osbourne, Johnnie Gill, Me'lisa Morgan and a host of others. Sheri has performed and recorded many types of music, everything from classical to reggae to funk. But her heart always remained in Gospel.
Sheri Harrington is a must hear in the world of music. Whatever you're looking for musically she's probably got it. And if your soul is longing to be feed with the unadulturated word of God, then you can not pass her up. Beautiful music with the beautiful message of Christ. What more can you ask for.

I know this artist personally, but i never knew her voice was such a "powerful testimony," nor did i know that her beautiful voice would touch my soul in the way it has. "JOY" is a masterpiece in the "new comtemporary gospel" genre. Sheri Harrington has a fresh new sound that reaches deep into the heart of the listener. I know that she touches God with her "magnificent octive" range, and the pure "Joy" and love that she has for him. She will touch your heart and soul as well when you hear this wonderful new cd. Believe me, "JOY" is a winner!
