Dan has performed on the main stage at the Telluride Bluegrass, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Aspen's Beyond Bluegrass Festival, and has opened for artists including David Wilcox and John Prine. Three of Dan's songs, "Desert Flowers", "I Want to be an American Too" and "Here in the World" have been played on network television shows Ed, Ally MacBeal and MTV's Undressed.

Dan has recorded four solo albums, "Old Familiar Place," "Canyon," "Maroon Creek" and "Small Town Love." "Small Town Love," his most recent release on the Flying Dog Record label, includes 6 songs written last year in addition to 4 new versions of his most popular material.

Dan's musical style can best be described as "singer-songwriter folk rock." His use of open tunings, command of melody, and wry sense of humor have earned him a reputation as a dynamic and captivating live performer.

Aspen Times CD Review, by Stewart Oksenhorn

"...Sheridan's style doesn't demand much production. His voice is naturally warm and easy on the ears. His guitar-playing seems simple, but Sheridan's strumming style, added to his complex tunings, give a full, rich sound.

And then there are the songs. For "Small Town Love," Sheridan revisits some old favorites: the romantic and poetic "Here in the World"; a reworked version of "American," Sheridan's best-known song, and more relevant than ever; and the touching ode to man's best friend, "Dog Food."

Six of the songs are new, and they show Sheridan's wide range. "Mandatory Minimum" rails against our misguided drug laws and with its harmonica and downbeat tone, it has shades of Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" album. "Sheep" is a funny rap about conformity and greed, and the struggle against keeping up..."

With the warmth of JT and the energy of Springsteen, this modern folk album walks the balance of addressing political themes and looking backwards to timeless folk themes, integrating everything in between with wit to spare.

  • Cute and very listenable. Specially Small Town and American.

An outstanding CD. Great lyrics, deepgoing, even thrilling in its own special way. The inclusion of instruments like violin and flute gives it its particular touch that I appreciate very much, being an Irish music junkie... . Top notch!
