Album Notes

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Robin Sheltman, who most people know as Rob, has been involved in music from the very beginning. He started playing drums at age nine and he and his older brother Gary started a band called "The Amazing Soul Confidentials", playing soul & motown music from such greats as the Four Tops, James Brown, The Temptations, Otis Redding, to name a few. In 1968 their group won the Battle of The Bands there in So-Cal. Rob taught himself how to play the guitar as a teenager and at age 18 he hit the road playing music in bars, clubs , parties, wherever he could draw a crowd. Traveling around the country in the Vietnam War & hippie era Rob played in Different bands playing country, rock&roll ,blues ect. "I think If I play all kinds of music I'll play all the time" says Rob. It wouldn't be unusual for him to play for hours at a time knowing over a 100 songs of all styles. Being a musician, doing drugs seemed natural, but before long Rob became addicted and in 1985 after facing death several times from overdoses, he decided to make a change. Rob gave his life to Jesus and began serving the Lord full time. In 1991 he met up with the famous biker Pastor Phil Aguilar and Set Free Ministries, widely known for the radical music they play. Rob got involved with the music ministry there, and soon became the leader of " The Lord's Most Dangerous Band " playing rock&roll, oldies, r&b, country, motown, changing the lyrics just enough to get the Gospel message out. With a lifetime of experience playing cover tunes Rob has had the opportunity to perform for thousands of people, including 7 thousand at 1st Assembly of God in Pheonix, AZ. These days Robs writing original songs ranging from country, gospel, rock&roll and blues tunes at his home recording studio in Long Beach as well as performing at coffee houses and his church.
