Shawn is one of Atlanta's premier vocalist. She has performed all over the country. She has sung with many bands, big bands and trio's alike. Not only is she an amazing singer but she is quite a performer, actress and dancer. These are her picks and favorite jazz songs from some of the great jazz singers of our time.She has been in the business since she was a child.Having come from a musical background, Shawn grew up listening to her mother who was a professional pianist play all those wonderful standards.She was born with the natural ability to sing, and with her powerful voice and control, she has a soulful quality with wonderful phrasing.

author: Derk SimonsonMy group has done a CD. It turned out excellent. But, not as good as a big time recording company would do for one of their major artists, I thought to myself. Well, they spend a fortune to get those results - we did the best we could with our limited resources. We spent a ton as it was. Shawn comes out with this album, without a recording company's bankroll but with some tremendous help from talented friends, and it's as good as the big budget CD's. Shawn is amazing. And it helps a lot that she has so many cabable friends who wanted her CD to be super. I want to thank her friends for caring so much cause I love this CD.

This CD quite simply grips you from the first downbeat and never lets you go. She swings throughout yet can be breathtakenly poignant with songs such as Guess Who I Saw Today. My personal favorite of this always varied programme is Peel Me A Grape the best version I have ever heard. I end with a request - that you do not buy a copy of this CD - buy three or four and give them to your friends at Christmas!
