notes

Sharon began her career as a Celtic folk singer, traveling around to pubs and coffeehouses throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Her voice is perfectly suited to Irish balladry, and she quickly won a loyal following. In 1996, she released her first album, the Celtic rocking "Incantation" which has received national acclaim. Sharon has performed at numerous fairs and festivals, including the Oregon Country Fair, the Sebastopol Celtic Festival, the Ancient Ways festival, and a wide variety of harvest fairs.

Sharon has long been inspired by the mythic archetypes of her Irish ancestry, and has woven this into her original music. She has also avidly studied Middle-Eastern dance, spending many years as a student of Suhaila Salimpour and bringing this to her current performances as well. As the driving force behind Pandemonaeon, she has been featured at Slim's, the Great American Music Hall, and the Mystic Theater, sharing her witchy vocals and myth-inspired lyrics with audiences young and old.

  • A favorite for years

Nice to see Sharon's work on CD Baby. Her amazing voice and sense of style shines in this early solo album. Trying to narrow it down to only one favorite song on the album, I guess I'd say Lord Fenugreek, but every song is memorable and beautifully realized. Check out the band Pandemonaeon for more rocking band sounds, but for me, Sharon alone is the best.

  • Amazing Adventure!

You will love this CD--I agree with one of the others that Knight combines Rock/Celtic music together very well and her lyrics are beautiful poetry. Listening to any of her songs will take you on a wondrous journey--this CD is highly recommended. You'll know exactly what I mean once you hear it!

  • A refreshing take on Celtic music.

Incantation, as the name implies, is magickal. Sharon's voice is a perfect match for the collection of instruments used on this album. Bardic Voices is an upbeat number bound to get your foot tapping. The paganistic Mother of the World has fantastic rhythm. Black Jack Davy makes one want to dance. My favorite is 13 Knots with its acoustic guitar & flute, again blending beautifully with Sharon's silky sounds. If you enjoy Celtic music, I strongly suggest this album.
