notes

By 2002 The Money Makers were in full swing and top form. Working 4-5 nights a week will make you tight in a hurry. I met Jack Trice about 2001. Since then he has become my writer partner and great friend. When we first started collaborating, Jack and I wrote 3 times a week for about a year. The best of that time period ending up on LSP. This CD took a long time to make. When the studio is in your house you are never happy. Q-ball laid down the drums with me singing and playing rhythm. Then with the extensive help of Jack Trice producing and Lenny Grasso on bass and harmony vocals I finished it up about a year later. This is my favorite Money Makers CD so far. It took a while but it was worth it. The song “$40 Gigs $50 Tab” which I wrote with Kenneth Wright helped get us more airplay. Some of my other favorites are "100% Chance of Rain", "Lay it Down", and the title cut "Leopard Skin Print".

Shane Douglas is many things. Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter/Comedian/all around Entertainer. Shane has been performing in Nashville, TN for almost 15 years. At 17 he moved to Music City from Martinsburg WV. Since then he has honed his musical skill and learned to work a crowd like no other. Shane will have you dancing, singing and laughing along as he gets to the core of the audience with his intuition and skill. It has been said, but never proven, that Shane knows every song. Although no one could know every song. Shane does know a lot of them. If he doesn't know yours he can get close.
How to describe Shane Douglas? He can interact with the crowd and get the party going. Or he can get funky and have you dancing all night long. He can go into a stand-up bit and get you laughing. Then play the dirtiest blues you ever heard. He is one mean guitar slinger and he knows every classic barroom song. He is all that and more. Whether it's 10 people or 10,000 they will have a good time and most likely stay for one more drink then they planned.
He has works nearly every night in Music City U.S.A. From the big venue to the small Shane can please the crowd. So why haven't you heard of him?
Well Shane is hard to categorize. Shane defies definition. So no one quite knows what to do with him. But Shane knows what to do. Keep on playing good music, take time to identify with the crowd, and make it a party. Everyone has fun at a Shane Douglas and the Money Makers show.

Shane and the Money Makers "have the playbook down pat" Robert K. Oermann. Music Row Magazine 2004
Rock-n-Roll, Country, Blues, Classics and everything else in between. Consisting of Shane Douglas, Lenny Grasso, and Gary "Q-ball" Kubal Shane and the Money Makers play to the crowd and the room. They treat each venue as a living-breathing thing. They get in tune to the house and perform accordingly.
They play the right songs, at the right volume and do the right things to make that crowd, that night, have a great evening. Because of this they can fit in to any situation and not only make it work but make it a success. They are the right choice no matter what you occasion.

I met Shane in Nashville last summer on the street,he ask my wife and I to come hear them play at the Bourban street blues club. I'm a big Stevie Ray Vaughn fan,Shane said he would play something for me when I walked in the door. And he did as soon as we came in, he played could't the weather. I became a fan right then,I love Leopard Skin Print. Its a great cd !!!! Can't wait to see Shane and the Moneymakers again.
