notes

Sinister Grin is a rock band based in Memphis, TN and is proud to deliver their debut CD entitled "Medicine". The title track from which the album was named has caught the attention of the internet community by soaring to the number one spot both in the rock genre and overall category on indie-music.com several times over. The song has also received a "Track of the Day" award at garageband.com.

The album Medicine was recorded in a home studio engineered and built by Brandon Scott, owner of Hamster Powered Radio, an independant record label. The recordings were then mixed and mastered by top notch engineers at the world famous Ardent Studios in Memphis TN which has spawned records from such artists as Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Three Doors Down and many more.

The album covers serious topics such as drug addiction(Medicine), suicide(Last Breath), break ups(Set Me Free), frustration (It Aint Right), and sanity(On and On) all based on real life experiences.

"Raw, yet disciplined and tight. Melodic yet wicked. And a hard rock vocalist who can actually sing instead of just shriek his lungs out, making this song accessible to less aggressive rock/pop fans without sacrificing the band's hard rock credibility. Solid chops displayed on the guitar solos and serious discipline in the musicianship. This is not just a group of kids thrashing around on guitars. Based on this one groove-heavy track, I'd be willing to settle in to hear an entire album from Sinister Grin."

This album is awesome. The groove that these guys get into is perfect. From start to finish, not a bad song in the bunch. It hasn't come out of my truck's CD player since I got it in the mail. I have played this CD for a couple of friends, and I've got them hooked on it too.

It is hard to find a true rock CD anymore. This is it though. Every song on the CD is good.
