Steely Dan, Frank Zappa, Moby, and even elements of the Grunge movement come to mind here. Artist Bio

At the age of 6, Scott Fisher began piano lessons with German concert pianist Ilsa Glassel. Scott would study with Glassel until the age of 16, developing technique and a fundamental understanding of music. At the age of 12, Scott began his first rock project.

At 17, Scott moved to Boston to attend Boston University and actively sought musicians to form an original composition-based music project.

The thriving Boston music scene was an ideal place for Scott to grow, playing multiple styles, with a wide variety of musicians. Soon after, he would form the rock/jam-band Liquid Sunrise. From 1993 to 1996 Liquid Sunrise was a staple college band in the Northeast club and university circuit. Playing mostly Fisher originals Liquid Sunrise developed a strong regional following, making appearances at the Paradise Rock Club, House of Blues and Mamakin. Their following developed mostly from B.U., Tufts, MIT and Boston College.

At the age of 21, Scott formed Soular in Boston. A much more ambitious musical project, Soular tackled 70's Miles Davis style improvisation as well as some of Frank Zappa's most intricate material. Soular was an attempt to combine compositional complexity and intense improvisation with catchy pop melodies and vocals provided by Fisher.

Soular played the NE College and club circuit for a year before relocating their home base to Portland, Oregon. In Portland, Soular quickly became a Northwest underground favorite, working in progressively larger clubs for over two years.

In 1999, they released their first self-titled record selling over 2000 units. From the first release, they developed a strong national fan base with over 250 web hits a week recorded from Feb. to Aug. 1999 on the Soular web site.

In July of 1999, Scott teamed up with Producer/Studio Owner Dan Decker (Dandy Warhols, Eric Mathews), to concentrate on Fisher's strong vocals, songwriting and performance ability. The music is a blend of heartfelt piano/pop and deep organic grooves, provided by some of the best young musicians in the Northwest.

    I happened onto the Scott Fisher Band in San Diego after the 2004 Marathon and knew I HAD to find his music. His bluesy piano playing, catchy tunes, and addictive lyrics have reeled me in like no other. Great music that I can't seem to stop playing. I can't wait for his next CD!

    This guy's a great mucisian. The lyrics are well thought of, and the entire compilation is great and very diverse. One minute it sounds like you're in the Caribbean and the next your in France. Give it a listen . This musician deserves the "CD better than most mainstream music" award.

    This CD is full of great songs. Cool pop ballads and funk tunes, and a bunch of unique music. It sounds great and has a couple hits in the waiting.

    This CD is a must have for anybody who enjoys smooth lyrics with funky beats. Scott Fisher truely has a very unique smoky voice that is a true pleasure to listen to. The songs blend together very smoothly and offer a CD truely worth having.

    Overall, the CD is great. The songs that are strong, are very strong. The CD though could stand a bit of editing. There's a couple of songs that don't fit as well and would serve as better B-sides than album tracks. Other than that, if you're a Ben Folds/Dave Matthews fan, you'll like this disc.
