Los Angeles based Stand-Up Comic Joe Lavelle started out in the New Orleans comedy scene where fellow comics bestowed upon him the prefix "SexySexy". While in New Orleans SexySexy Joe Lavelle spent 2 ½ years in the improvisational comedy troupe, Brown! which gained a strong cult following with their midnight performances every Saturday. Lavelle's Stand-Up Comedy set has always been full of hilarious songs. Joe usually performs solo with an acoustic guitar but on special occasions over the years he has been backed up by great New Orleans and Los Angeles musicians including members of The Continental Drifters, dB's, The Bangles, The Cowsills, Dream Syndicate, The Swinging Madisons, Paper Sun, and Saucy Monky.
SexySexy Joe Lavelle has been based in Los Angeles since 1999 and fills his schedule with various projects as an Actor, Comic, and Musician. In November of 2002 he recorded his first Comedy/Music CD, the Juicebox EP. Juicebox was produced by former Social Distortion drummer, Derek O'Brien, and features Lavelle on vocals and acoustic guitar backed up by members of Paper Sun (cdbaby.com/papersun): Krister Axel (keys), Carson Cohen (bass), Joel Eckels (guitar), Adam Marcello (drums), and special guest Missy Gibson of Breech (cdbaby.com/breech) adding some duet vocals.
