notes

Sense Boardwear is a San Diego Based clothing line, marketing to the surf/skate/snow crowd and works a lot with bands, sponsoring shows and events dealing with local and underground music.

This CD is a follow up to the first compilation CD that can be found on this site entitled "shit for your shit". This new Sense Boardwear Compilation CD, entitled "High Rise" features 21 tracks, by 13 different bands. This CD is a mix of Hip Hop/Punk Rock & Reggae. Its got the Sublime type Reggae, with a Beastie Boys style of hip hop with a little more dancehall involved and a good pure style of Punk Rock with an Influence of Bad Religion and NOFX.

Bands featured on this CD are:
Chapter 11, Bargain Music, The Bredrin Daddys, Dirty Heads, Flipn Whiteys, HB Surround Sound, High Tide, Unsound, Mystic Roots Band, Blinded, bFoundation, Part One Tribe, Local Culture with Guest Appearances by Members of LONG BEACH DUB ALL STARS/DUBCAT

And in retort to the fellow with the comment regarding Band Info. all the info for ALL the bands is in the CD Jewel case. Not only is there a website for ALL the bands, but there are emails, phone #'s and contact information. We promote the bands plenty, pick up the CD and support. We'll pump out more of these compilation CDs and expose alot of this great talent that the corporate ind. is ignoring. Thanks.

  • Best Compilation CD I Own
    author: Mike from KY

This is definitely the best Compilation CD available anywhere. I am shocked that this hasn't hit the mainstream markets. The bands on this CD make this one of the top CD's ever. I own over 1000 CD's and this is one of best in my collection. Excellent sampling of the California Coasts Beach Music scene. If you buy any CD this year get this one. This CD is perfect. 5 STARS+

  • great cd - where's the links?
    author: wrybread

Love the songs you have on the sampler. My one complaint is why no links to the individual artists? I'm guessing they have websites somewhere? But for example High Tide, I can't find them because a zillion things come up for it on Google. I can't even find Chapter 11, I'd love to hear more of that as well. CD samplers are great, and this one is fantastic, but don't you think you should promote the bands on it a little bit?

  • damn good cd's i loved em

i thought it was awesome...dirty heads are the shit

  • Can i just say WOW?
    author: Michael

Growing up, i listened to alot of these compilation Cds, OP IVY being a personal favorite of mine and it would just suck to get a punk o rama cd and listenin to the same 2 songs, same with all the ska vs punk CDs. this one is just unified. reggae is perfectly in place and the punk gives it an even balance along with the hip hop. i must say this is the bestCD i've picked up in awhile and totally blows away the op ivy compilation tribute CD..looking forward to more CDs. i guess u find the best things by accident. CHapter 11, dirty heads, bredrin daddys and unsound are puttin down some good tunes

I got this disc a week ago and I've been listening to it almost non-stop since then. 21 songs, and I can sit and listen to them all. You can't say that about many compilations. Some songs I was really impressed with were Chapter 11 with Roots & Culture, High Tide with Sensi, and bFoundation with Amber Alert. That Roots & Culture song is one of the sickest tracks I have heard in awhile. Anyways, this comp is better than the first, and it was pretty hard to improve on the first one alone. This is good shit, I look forward to another one. -mofo

  • Great upcoming CD, but Bargain Music rules, bitch
    author: Matt outta Denver

Great CD featuring up+cumming artists flying under the craphole of radio. Bredrin Daddys, Chap 11, Flipin Whiteys, and Dirty Heads will give you straight up OG-type roots, but the reason to get this is Bargain Music and their rippin Rock and Stone. Suck on that Dubya!

  • One irie cd for peeps to jam to!
    author: Bryan

Ok, the first cd, "Shit for your Shit" was amazing. But this new one is the best! Newcommers, Part One Tribe, put donw one sick track. Unsound, Mystic roots, high tide, breddrin daddy's, chaper 11, etc etc etc are all amazing too. This is a great cd for music lovers! If you dont have this cd, then your just not cool no more! Go buy it, u will love it so much, u might just buy more!

  • ITS ABOUT TIME THE GOODS ARE ALL TOGETHER ON ONE CD....
    author: Chris Murray

DAMN I COULD NOT HAVE MADE A BETTER MIX CD, ITS THE SOUNDTRACK OF THE SO CALI WAY!! WHETHER IM RIDING POWDER OF CRUISING IN MY RIDE, THIS CD HAS A PERFECT MIX OF FEEL GOOD REGGAE TUNES AND ADRENALINE PUMPING PUNK ROCK-- DEFINATLEY RECOMEND IT

  • Just as promising music as the first
    author: Jessie

Anything with Dirty Heads on it is going to be top on my list. This cd may even be better than the first compilation with a little bit more of a reggae sound. I've heard of Bredrin Daddys before and they were a good addition. Then there were awesome returners like Mystic Roots and Chapter 11. Definetly recommend this cd.

  • perfect mix of reggae and hip hop
    author: Christy Marshall

This Cd has the perfect mix of reggae and hip hop with just the right amount of punk added. It totally gives you the southern California vibe. This is definatley a Cd that I feel my money was well spent on. I'm not going to lie and say I like every song on it but you never like every song on any CD, but at least with this one you have 21 songs to choose from.

  • Quality cd of up and coming bands
    author: Travis Vail

Great CD with a large variety of reggae, punk and hip-hop artists. With both rare live tracks and unreleased studio material. High tide from SD is just sick.Dirty heads kick ass,Bargain music,Unsound,Part 1 Tribe...all rule it. Sweet bands, check out this cd and you will be stoked. -Travis
