1 Sinatra International No. 96 :
"Another wonderful CD from the LA BRAVA stable, DeLovely is Janet's 13th album. Janet Seidel perfromed this live album in one complete take, no overdubs with only the dialogue edited out for brevity. The trio - Janet Seidel vocal/piano, David Seidel on bass and Chuck Morgan on guitar, infuse these Cole Porter songs with understanding and humour. As usual Seidel proves she is without peer in doing the American popular music songbook. ............. The sound on this disc is as usual from LA BRAVA, superb. G. Hawkins.
2 Concert Review of Delovely at the National Gallery of Australia:
“Her unadorned crystal clear voice and infectious humour and patter it is a winning combination. Featuring the very best of Cole Porter, Janet and her band perform memorable favourites like, I Get a Kick Out of You, Night and Day, Love For Sale and many more….. Janet offered us a uniquely personal, classic and sophisticated take on the greatest American lyricist and composer in one, Cole Porter. Porter’s output of 800 songs is a rich booty to plunder, but Janet made it her own. Its hard not to compare her to Doris Day, Peggy Lee or even the more eccentric Blossom Dearie, all of whom she has performed tributes to in her career, and it's definitely fair to say that her understanding of the classics is equal to that of those legendary greats……

3 By Bruce Crowther well known UK jazz writer:
"Janet's next release finds her in concert at The Woodfire, a popular Sydney venue. Recorded without overdubs and unedited, apart from taking out some of the inter-tune talk (the show last longer than even a well-packed CD can accommodate), this set has Janet accompanying herself at the piano with David on bass and Chuck Morgan on guitar. All the music hereon is by Cole Porter, with which it is clear that Janet has a real affinity.
4 From major Sydney newspaper, Herald On Sunday:
"Janet Seidel is right up there with the best jazz singers in this country. With an impressive and highly acclaimed discography, tight and professional shows and a warmth and wit that can't be learnt, this is one swingin' lady.
...... Seidel has a less is more approach. She maintains interest without over-the-top gestures, she stays faithful to the score but injects sassy attitude into everything. ...... The leather seats at the Cabaret were buzzing, listeners' feet were tapping, the floor was vibrating from the bass line. Australian jazz doesn't get much better.

A Hit
author: Adam SternbergA "light and lovely" revue of Porter's most melodic songs, sung by a versatile and talented performer. The performance is crisp, never dull, and I've played it many times. My only dissapointment is that she didn't sing "I Concentrate on You," which would have restored a perfect balance on this recording between slow and fast paced songs.
A masterpiece!
author: carlostmouraNoboby sang Cole Porter's swing songs like Janet. It's a special collection we will never forget, delicious, sassy, with her marvelous vibratoless voice.I think Janet Seidel is the best jazz "chanteuse" today. Buy this cd, it's wonderful!
