Classic Soft 70's Pop and 70's Rock. Undeniable hits from a classic, unforgettable band that changed the airwaves.

notes

Born into the golden time period of the 70's, the music of Seals & Crofts continues to be a testimony to the wave of creativity that to this day inspires new artists.

In this CD of all new recordings, produced by Jack Hale of Hale House Productions, Seals & Crofts were able to utilize the latest in recording technology, to breathe new life into the classic hits as well as new material. Now you can hear their music, as they always wanted it interpreted. Featured on this collection are Lua Crofts (daughter of Dash Crofts), and Juliet Seals (daughter of Jim Seals).

Summer Breeze has been used in commercial ads, television and movies, including the opening song in the popular movie I Know What You Did Last Summer. No less than 25 current artists have recorded it. We May Never Pass This Way Again has been used countless times as the theme song for many events and the graduation song for high schools and colleges. In addition, Seals & Crofts continue to receive an astonishing amount of airplay. Their beautiful sound, well-crafted lyrics and unique style remain timeless and universal. They have stated on many occasions that the marriage between the lyrics, chords and melodies of their art sometimes have a tendency to obscure the depth of the message within their song.

The "Traces" CD showcases this legendary duo at their very best. So listen closely, and be prepared to enjoy Seals & Crofts of 2004. We look forward to hearing more of their new musical direction on future recordings!

Wonderful Album! I heard Hummingbird on an "oldies" radio station I listen to and it brought back all of the other wonderful songs done by Seals and Crofts. I also love the new songs! The old songs were just so genuine and classics that have stood the test of time! Wonderful music, classic lyrics and beautiful voices. This album lets you travel back in time and just enjoy the ride! Great job guys!

Pure 70's melodic magic. It's like having long lost friends come and visit. I love the oldies and I love the "new" material that consists of four songs in classic S&C style. Good luck guys as you head into your seventies!? Holy cow where did the time go? With this album it apparently stands still...GET IT!

I usually never write any comments on the internet, but Seals and Crofts made a huge impact on me when I was a teenager in the seventies. I am from Iceland, and when I listen to the songs Summer Breeze and Diamond Girl now in my fifties, makes my skin gooseflesh, and I even start to cry due to the perfect beauty of the songs. They are simply the best ever. I have been trying to find CD's as my old records are not playable any longer, but without success. Therefore I am now trying the internet. Hope I have success. God bless them for their valuable contribution

  • Worthy Addition to My S&C Collection
    author: Virgelio Carpio

The CD is absolutely great! The first 5 songs are classic hit oldies. They remained faithful to the original 70s arrangements -- just the way I want them to be -- and whatever changes they made (including an a cappella segment or two) were definite improvements IMO. I love the song "Get Closer" especially with their daughters singing the female part. With their daughters in the song I think that is where most of the pride and inspiration in that album comes from. The next 5 songs are a mix of new and old. I remember "Euphrates" from an old vinyl album of mine. That's five new songs to look forward to.

We found this site by accident. Their music contines to fill us with a sense of happiness, well-being, and peace. We are smiling!! The sounds remain timeless. Hope there is more to come. Thank you.

Seals & Crofts when they hit the charts in the 1970's were among a select group of artists able to combine music and lyrics in such a spiritual way; their sound and message literally overwhelmed the senses. They were more than just a pop group, there is a pure honesty in the message of each song, each song being built with a soaring movement and anticipation of energy that transcends the idea of calling what they did simply pop music, yet within the established pop music structure they found places and took their listeners to those places that can only be described as "other worldly", and this is the reason why their music is so timeless. It was of course wonderful to hear the great old songs reinterpreted on "Traces", but for me the joy in hearing the few new tracks after not having any new Seals & Crofts material in so long was the reason I purchased this CD. There are many of us for whom the old production values and energy of the original recordings of some of the classic Seals & Crofts songs will forever be a part of our musical conciousness, and I'd say the only regret I have is that I was never able to see them perform live. It is my great hope that they will once again do a tour, with all the success that bands are having from the 70's on tour right now it seems a good time to consider one, maybe with a slower pace considering how rough the road can be on musicians of a certain age. Another great reason for a tour now would be as a gift of good energy in understanding some of the events happening in the world that relate to areas that are near and dear to the hearts of both James & Dash, spreading love and understanding through music as a moving force I am sure must appeal to them. In any case, there are thousands of us out here who would relish the moments hearing them live after so many years. One can only hope.

  • We passed This Way Again
    author: Marty

It was great to relive the past when the music was good. the remixed versions of the old classics as well as some new hits.. The ladies vocals are unbelievable and the harmonies on Hummingbird are so well blended.. out standing job fellows .. let's hope for another real soon

  • A masterful work of art!
    author: Mark Grigsby

I grew up listening to Seals and Crofts in the 70's and I must admit that their voices are timeless. They sound as good today as 30 years ago. The new arrangements of their classics is fantastic... the blend of music, lyrics and harmony is crisp, clear and very much "today". When they quit actively producing and touring they left a huge void that has not been filled in the music industry. With all of the bands/groups from the 70's re-uniting and having huge success I would like to see Jim and Dash go after it again with a combinatin of old hits and new recordings. Traces is just a teaser... I really hope you pass along my review so Jim and Dash know how much I appreciate and enjoy listening to what they have done with Traces.

    author: Sylvain Sarrazin

When I got the CD in the mail, I was like a little child given his first gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. I was a great as I expected, Thank you for keeping the essence of the orignals yet adding the twists that given them a new air. I especially like the jazzy edge given to Hummingbird. It's been too long a time since I first saw them on Don Krishner's rock concert on late night TV. It was also a very special touche having their daughters sing with them.

Love this album. I have 13 others by them and this is great to hear how they've aged like fine wine. You can really tell how they evolved over the years and developed such a wonderful sound. Big difference between the 1969 and later releases. All great stuff!

  • I Feel Young Again!
    author: Jane

I grew up on this music. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to hear them again. As a 40's something, this music means home, warmth, and happiness. I was overwhelmed with emotion when I put this CD in and heard these new versions of their old classics. I never thought they could improve on their original versions. Although I still love what they did before, this CD is steller. Thanks so much for your renewed efforts. They couldn't be more amazing!!!

  • GREAT
    author: Janet

So sorry I didnt know about this when it was released. They sound as good as they did back in the 70's. Always loved Hummingbird and even if this is somewhat different, it is still tremendous. I miss them and wish they would tour again together. They are so much better than some other 70s groups. COME ON BACK, WE MISS & LOVE YOU. Janet

  • Great cd. Reccomend to all

  • STILL IMPRESSIVE AS EVER
    author: Peggy Sue

This CD is just as inspiring as their earlier work. It is nice to hear the same voices as they are today...better. This is the kind of music that kept me well grounded while growing up. Feel good music! I would like to see a music video...maybe with flashes of their kids and them: as a progression in time to today where they meet again to form this CD. End it with "We may never pass this way again".

What an awesome CD! The remake of Hummingbird is wonderful, especially the attition of the daughters voices. My favorite is Love Takes No Prisoners. Euphrates is really good as well. Hearing the music of S&C again brings back great memories of years gone by. I'd really like to see the "Unborn Child" album released on CD. It has very special meaning to me. I'd love to see the guys tour too!

I have all Seals & Crofts albums.Shame so few are available on cd! This record is absolutely marvellous. Have been playing it on repeat for two weeks. Great versions of old favourites, some even surpassing originals. PLEASE make a brand new album from new material. Talent of this degree... it's a waste not to enter this century with Your talent and level of creativity... And also, an added thought... keep working with CDBaby. • So glad I bought this CD
    author: J. Czajkowski

After listening to the cuts on CDBaby, I knew that I wanted to have this music for my own. I love the harmonies (classic S&C) and the beautiful melodies. I was also immediately in love with their newer songs and enjoyed the updates of their classics. I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it.

  • A gift from God.
    author: Deborah Sturdevant

For thirty years, the melodies, harmonies, and lyrics of Seals and Crofts have been playing in my head. Their music has always filled me with a sense of joy, well-being, and peace. Their musical gifts are such blessings for all who listen. They create unique sounds together which no one can duplicate. The addition of their daughters' beautiful voices is brilliant. (Love to Juliet, a former student) My chest tightened up and the tears erupted upon hearing the a cappella intro of Hummingbird. This new version is truly stunning. I trace my life through music, and there is none which has impacted me more than the timeless music of Seals and Crofts. Thank you for all your efforts to share with us once again. We can only hope to see you in concert one day. Love to all involved in this Traces project.

  • author: Judles 10.17.06

The choices for this cd are excellent. Agreed that the artists should not be reviewed, but there is a noticable difference between these recordings and the originals. I'm pleased just to know that Jim Seals and Dan Seals (Seals & Seals) are now together recording new music and continuing to include these when in concert. My son, a Music Composition major at Birmingham-Southern College, and I were fortunate to see and hear them at the Riley Center, originally the Grand Opera House , in Meridian, Mississippi this past Saturday 14 October. Only tears can express the joy and the thrill to hear and see them in concert; with Jim's two son's performing as well (one on bass guitar and one on lead guitar). Bless you all. *********

  • Like catching up with an old friend
    author: Robin

Tunes which have helped me on my spiritual journey with some subtle and not so subtle differences. It's a bit like catching up with old friends who haven't changed at their core, but who have moved on tremendously on their spiritual journeys.

  • Like a long trip from home, it's nice to hear from friends again!
    author: TG

I looked up Seals & Crofts after hearing Summer Breeze on Sirius's 70's channel. I happened onto this site and ordered the cd. It brought me back to my teens when I saw then for the first time. I think that this cd captures the essense of the guys, and hearing the voices of their daughter's was a nice suprise. Although the harmonies were a little different than the originals (Whose going to be the same after all these years) I recomend this cd highly. After listening to this cd, it reminded me of coming home after a long time gone and seeing old friends.

  • I'm so happy with this album. It makes me feel so wonderful.
    author: Muriel Edgerton

I think everyone should be required to listen to this CD. If it's listened to once, it will be played over and over and over again. It's better than wonderful!

  • Nostalgic stuff.
    author: Electrictommy

Get the record. You wouldn't be here if you weren't a fan(-atic.) Nice, low-intensity recording of the dynamic duo and offspring. They're as good musically as they ever were. Missing from these sessions are the phemomenal cats that played on their '70s vinyl, and some energy. There's a good bit of MIDI synth tracking, which the more accomplished musician-types among the fan base will find disappointing. Budgets being what they are these days, this can be forgiven. That aside, these are immensely talented folks that we haven't heard from all these long years. Let's hope they get back on the road soon! tom walsh (Loyal S&C fan since "The Champs".)

  • Oh yes...I needed this (I'm writing a paper)

    Classic cd. Great job.

  • These gentleman are gifted with great talent & class. Thanks.
    author: Jeff Stewart

voices that sound the same after 30 plus years are not voices....they are instruments. This is a very impressive CD and I am so glad to have experianced it. Seals & Crofts played a major role in the seventies, and this shows they play a major role in music history. Great job fellas!!!

  • author: Raul Rovira

This CD is great, a must have for any S&C fan. I think that their music is so rich that any new arrangement of old stuff, done by them, is received by their fans as an artistic way to say the people: this music can still say more

  • Lovely to hear they still have it.
    author: Kevin Stark

As a Seals and Crofts fan since the early 70's and having all their records Traces was a lovely sign Jim and Dash still have their great voices and can deliver. I agree with others who suggest it would be great to have the old records released on CDc but look forward to possible other new material as well.

  • Seals & Crofts have matured well
    author: Sam Wise

I have enjoyed them for many years and had teh nice experience of seeing them perform many years ago at Lake Tahoe. they were the first group I had ever seen using headphones for personal monitors ! This new album is a nice surprise with the addition of their children . I hope they wiwll make another recording.

  • A must have for any music collection
    author: Tim Swanson

Album opens with a soft pop tempo and intensifies as it converges into a bluesy tap your foot rhythm. Songs and track arrangement very well engineered. The duet with their daughters is a testiment that music is in their blood. Clear, crisp, no disappointments here. Good for any mood – easy listening or party.

  • This CD is FABULOUS!
    author: Cody Sullivan

CD Baby delivered my CD in a timely fashion and well packaged. The price was also incredible!

  • It's like a nice visit with old friends.
    author: Steve Hepokoski

It is fun to hear new versions of favorite old songs, and a special treat to hear them done by the same artists decades later. Their voices have mellowed, and their harmonies are enchanting. If you loved them then, you won't be disappointed with this CD. They remain respectful to, but not enslaved by, the original songs you know by heart. Go ahead, buy it!

  • As great as they've ever been!
    author: Kevin

The new arrangements to their older songs are excellent and I really enjoyed their daughters voices in accompaniment. The new song "Paint You" is beautiful and makes me want more (new AND old)! Like others have said, "open the vaults" !! It's time to rerelease their old albums!

  • Falling short of the mark
    author: Gus Kund

First off let me say that I'm a big seals@crofts fan since 1973 when I heard Diamond Girl on the radio. I have since then gotten all of their Albums plus bootlegs and fan club offerings at the time (1973-76 Fan club) So I can truly say I love their music, the older stuff more then the newer ones, Unborn Child on back. Songs like We may never pass, Humming Bird, Euphrates River etc. sound truly inspired with the performance AND the arrangements their in. This new CD "Traces" left me feeling that they got it right the FIRST time. Yes the recording is better but the arr. and sounds of the reworked tracks seem too polished and clean sounding, the rhythm tracks sound like a computer and not a real drummer with real drums playing. (check out Harvey Mason on the original Diamond Girl) this track does not swing like the 1970's version. Even Euphrates original track has a magic and sole to it the newer one does not. I have found that with most songs recorded by anyone, the original usually sounds the best in terms of performance, insperation, over all sound etc. When a song comes to a Writers head the first impression is usually the best. When you try to improve upon it too much you loose the magic that you had at first writing. This is a nice attempt at reviving their music but I would rather see them re-release all off their Original albums on CD.

  • WOW! I Highly Recommend This CD
    author: Dennis

Excellent! Is what I would call this release of re-recorded Classics of Dan Seals & Dash Crofts. I also would recommend this to anyone who likes songs with great vocals & harmonies. There are a few songs with arrangement changes, notably Get Closer and Hummingbird, but they are fresh sounding and work well :) I'm really glad they did this CD and I hope that they someday return for us to see and hear again!! Also Thank You to CD Baby for Super Fast Delivery and Service.

  • Very Good CD
    author: Randy Browne

Glad to hear these guys back after all so many years. Good collection of new songs and old favorites redone -- their voices sound strong as ever, and the sound quality is great. I hope that we can hear more from Seals & Crofts soon, and that they will consider touring again.

  • Seals & Crofts--They've Still Got IT!!!!
    author: Kelvin

What a wonderful gift I've received in listening to TRACES. I've been a Seals & Crofts fan for five years. And TRACES is the best of both worlds. S&C have re-recorded some of their best-loved songs with a live band. The results are excellent and ecstacy. HUMMINGBIRD sounds as earnest and enriching as the original. They also shine on SUMMER BREEZE, WE MAY NEVER LOVE THIS WAY AGAIN and DIAMOND GIRL. Thank you CD Baby for being offering this gem to the fans of Seals & Crofts. Love, Kelvin

  • Open the vaults!
    author: steveinIN

Great to hear them recording together again. Both Dash and Jim are in great voice, with harmonies on songs like Copper into Gold that are still spine tingling. Some interesting remakes also. Hummingbird especially shines from the new treatment. Here's hoping some record company reissues all their older releases!

  • Divine Harmony
    author: Angie Six

Seals & Crofts have always been my favorites group, and they created my favorite study music. I'm a 48 year old nursing student, and am I glad to have some new beautiful sounds to study by! I would love to have a boxed set of all their works, inspired by these spiritually aware artists. This new CD will serve me well, while I head toward helping those who cannot help themselves. I cannot believe how beautiful and well done these new/classics are. Long live Seals & Crofts, and much success on this CD. Thanks so much for the divine gift of more of their golden music. Peace to us all.

  • Divine Gift
    author: Angie Six

I'm a 48 year old nursing student; and S&C music is my ONLY study music, and has been for the past unmentionable number of years. This CD embodies the beauty of their divine-peaceful message, musical composition, and the spirit of their truth. This new CD will serve me well, as have their vinyl albums and cassettes. PLEASE make us more music!!! I will buy it all, I promise! Peace to all of us everywhere.

  • Great CD!
    author: JB

Seals and Crofts was my first concert and I've been a fan ever since. Traces is outstanding. The reworked versions of their hits, with daughters now joining them, are surprisingly impressive - I didn't think you could improve on the originals, but they did. The new offerings are just as good with the 'old guys' sounding great. Hopefully more new S&C tunes are in the works.

  • This c.d. shows traces of Seals and Crofts' former magnificence...
author: D.Easterly (Ms. Debra K. Easterly)

Personally, I did not see how Seals and Crofts could improve upon their former productions (Summer Breeze, et al)...but, upon receiving and listening to this new compilation, I realized that (to me) I was a witness to---and in the presence of---greatness: not merely musical freshness and improvisation; but something that held up. I not only admire Seals and Crofts musicality; I also greatly admire their support and practice of Spirituality, in the form of the B'ahai Faith (which promotes the essence of Truth in all religions, faiths, and creeds). Blessings, Seals and Crofts!---to your daughters, as well! Continued success. Namaste/Namaskar-Debra Easterly.

Well its been a long time coming and is really worth it as was Dash's solo album. Its time all the boys albums were available on CD.

  • The memories this brought back!
    author: Donna Wooten

The memories this CD brought back...I felt 14 again. The remakes were fantastic (and I'd forgotten what a wonderfully chilling song Not Be Found is, I haven't heard it in over 25 years)and the new songs! Change the Copper into Gold and Paint You in the Northlight both prove Jim and Dash can still out-write and out-perform any of the so-called superstars of today.

  • What a breath of FRESH AIR!!
    author: Jim St. James

What can one say??? What a great gift from Seals and Crofts to their fan base of the past and new fans abroad. Would love to see you live again....old friends! Perhaps John Ross and I will show up to hang out. It's been a few years. God Bless and thank-you for your gift and friendship.

These two musicians have not lost their God-given talent, which is, to sing in perfect harmony. It was also good to hear the daughters on this CD. They will no doubt, follow in their dad's footsteps. The CD is a nice remake of the original. I hope they make another one some day.

  • So great to hear these two again!
    author: Mary Grooms VanCott

It brought tears to my eyes to hear Not Be Found again after all these years. If Gabriel were on it... ah, but what we S&C fans wouldn't give to have CDs of those original songs. I remember sitting at their feet in the Troubadour on Santa Monica Blvd, close enough to touch them, watching them, listening -- I miss those days and very much miss their music. Traces is great!!

  • Hummingbird...that's all I need to say.
    author: KC

Ok, this CD is proof that S&C need to be writing, singing, recording, producing...get back to the studio already! I bought this CD soley because of Hummingbird...the new intro moves me to tears every time. Thank you for a fresh look at songs that have been playing in my head since the 70s...and please give me new ones to sing!

So incredibly wonderful to hear your music with todays recording equipment. Such a wonderful fuller sound. Addition of the daughters on Get Closer is a real bonus. I love each and every new song on the CD also. Very much needed music done by Seals and Crofts today. I am truly hoping there will be more!!! I would give much for a remake of Seals and Crofts 1 & 2 also. Everything they do is special.

This album is really good but Takin' It Easy is better. Can anyone tell me where can I find this CD or at least a song named You're the love. Thanks a lot.

So wonderful to hear my favorites. Seals and Crofts miss you, enjoyed tunes I haven't heard before. Change Copper into Gold and Love Takes No Prisoner a fresh, yet familiar sound that only belongs to you. Great c.d.

  • "Seals and Crofts evolution"
    author: Jaybird

A warm, soothing ride to Seals and Crofts many, many years later. Not sure which vocalist it is...but his voice has morphed into a Kenny Rogers clone at times...which is still a nice ride. If you like Kenny Rogers and easy listening music...this is a nice cd.

  • As always...Great.
    author: John Cook

If you want to be surprised or not this is the CD for you. Needless to say Seals & Crofts still got it. To team up and put together another CD after all these years that sounds as if they were never apart. Part old songs (remixed) and part new songs bring back old memories and make new ones. Looking forward to the next one.

  • author: Joe Barker

It was great to hear them again after all these years. Needless to say, they still have what it takes to deliver the goods. Hoping for future releases by this timeless duo. Kudos to the addition of the daughters talents.

Seals&Crofts lastest cd combimes 6 re-intepretations of their beloved classics with 4 new songs. The re-makes are quite strong.Diamond Girl is rockier and more urgent than the original.Summer Breeze has become countrified with the embellishment of a gentle fiddle. The Euphrates gets a really cool re-working here as well. But my favorite re-make is Hummingbird. The a cappella intro blows me away. However, the big thrill with Traces is the quality of the new songs. They're topnotch! Not Be Found has that unmistakable mandolin-guitar sound.Paint You is an erotic & sensual pop song.Change the Copper into Gold is a prayer for spiritual transformation. My favorite new song here is Love Takes No Prisoners. It closes the cd;and I hear it long after I finish playing it.Traces is a gift for those of us who grew up listening to Seals&Crofts'music;and a wonderful intoduction for younger folks.Love & Best Wishes to Jim & Dash.

Traces is an inspiring CD. Thoroughly enjoyed the new mix of the old songs. Especially loved Change the Copper into Gold.

  • Like a wonderful, warm hug from 2 old, dear friends!
    author: Rose L.

Listening to this CD brought me back to the mellow 70s and was like a wonderful, warm hug from 2 old, dear friends! Jim and Dash certainly still have the same easy blending harmonies that made these songs so distinctive and so popular during their first release and it was nice to see it was passed down a generation. Let's hope this encourages all the duo's albums to be re-released on CD.

  • Just like yesterday when you were in New Zealand
    author: Kooper

Awesome, simply awesome. Takes me back to when you toured New Zealand and I was privileged enough to meet you at Noahs Hotel and be invited to sit back stage during your concert in Christchurch. You are ageless!!!!! and you bring back wonderful memories of what has gone before. My heartfelt thanks to you both. this CD is AWESOME

  • Great Vocals, including their daughters!!
    author: Nick

Great hearing new versions of the old songs as well the newer songs; I hope that S&C come back and play some small venues.....their music definitely stands the test of time!

  • What a great treat!
    author: Allison

I loved hearing my old favorites on Traces - Summer Breeze, Hummingbird and Get Closer. Change the Copper Into Gold was a great new addition. What hasn't changed is their sound. It's still one of a kind and outstanding. Please bring back Unborn Child on CD too!

  • Fantastic!
    author: Joan

I'm listening to it now...... it brings back great memories .... it's like have two great friends over for dinner and a chat! Their music fills my soul! I hope one day they can tour again. I saw them in the 80's and they were awesome. Love yah Seals & Croft ..... keep playing the music and we'll keep listening!!

  • Seals and Crofts' fans...buy!
    author: JB Pace

This production was simply wonderful. One of my favorite songs of theirs' at all times was "Hummingbird". I actually liked the reworking of this song better than the original--and at 51, I'm picky! Every song on this album is a joy and a pleasure to the ears! Thanks to all that did this album!

  • Keeps my summer alive......
    author: Amy

Thank you for keeping it fresh. The music still sounds like the eternal summer in the dead of winter. Brings back memories of those long ago summer breezes....thank you from the bottom of a very grateful heart ;)

  • It is a pleasure
    author: Gveale

It was a pleasure to revisit Jim Seals and Dash Crofts music again. The new songs reintroduce us to the talent that reigned during the seventies. Thank you for getting back together.

  • Beautiful renditions of the old classics!!
    author: Andy S.

This CD has a beautiful collection of modern renditions of songs like Diamond Girl and Summer Breeze. The talent of Seals and Crofts is still there even after more than 20 years!! I hope that they will continue to put others out just like this one!! Way to go, Seals and Crofts!!

  • Loved It!! Still remember all of the words from years ago.
    author: Wanda Clark

I loved your music years ago and was so excited when you came out with a remake of your music. Also, enjoyed your children singing on this CD. I remember the song you wrote with their names . Would love it to have new music of yours.

  • Wonderful arrangements and new songs
    author: Shiidon Hawley

I have EVERYTHING that Seals and Crofts have done. I am impressed with the new arrangements of the songs and the new songs that are found on this album. I am anxiously waiting to see if there will be more for us to hear!

  • Falling in love with your music again
    author: Priscilla Stone Sharp

What a joy! You guys still have the talent and ability to draw us into the music. Most of them familiar old favorites, yet with new meaning each time I listen. Like reading the beautiful, compelling Baha'i Writings -- every time one gets something more. Your music has always had the power to touch the heart and uplift the soul. Please do continue to compose and sing always!

  • Incredible talents.......warm and wonderful song crafting
    author: roy mullin

When I heard Traces was available I immediately ordered it and have been much inspired. The maturing of the songs is evidence of Seals & Crofts growth as individual spirits. The changes-some subtle, some not- are a joy to listen to. I only wish for...........more.

  • waxing poetic funk
    author: Neysan

simply incredible. I've been waiting for *this* CD for years. I've been listening to the duo for as long as I can remember. I used to make 8-track mixes out of our LPs to listen to on car rides. hehe. yah, it's like that! Booyaa! Bring it on fellas, it's time to bring music back to the forefront. show 'em all what tigers can do with a mandolin in hand. simply put... this CD rocks!!!

  • There are no old songs here; only new beginnings!!
    author: fire_breathing_butterfly@yahoo.com

My spirit shuddered. That is the best explanation of this CD. I have always found the work of Jim & Dash to be a portal of sorts and have found no disappointments in Traces. I only wish that Windflowers could find its way back into the world for generations to come. My old cassette of Greatest Hits with it on it seems to be giving up the ghost as it were. I am in mourning. I thirst for more. Kudos on Traces for the artists and their aptly talented progeny!! ;)

  • Seals and Crofts...still at the top of their form
    author: Dean Dobbert

I was a big fan of Seals and Crofts back in the 70's, but could only find their "Greatest Hits" and "Summer Breeze" albums in CD format. I figured I would take a chance on "Traces" and now I'm trying my best to see if I can actually wear out a CD. Like all great music, every time I play these songs, they sound better. The old favorites and back, and the new stuff is great. Even my teenage daughter is asking me to play it.

  • Seals & Crofts - Still have It!
    author: JH

What a great surprise it was to find a new release from Seals & Crofts. This highly talented duo has been a favorite of mine since I first heard them in the early 70's. Excellent musicianship and harmonizing vocals along with well structured songs. I was skeptical at first about the re-recordings, but the remakes are well crafted just as one would expect. It is apparent that after this long hiatus they still have it!

  • Great to hear these guys again !
    author: Luann

Having admired their music for a long time I was so happy to hear about "Traces". I cannot say that I have a preference for one version or the other because I was so used to playing over & over the originals & loved them but Jim & Dash have put together a fresh remix on several old songs which sound fantastic! Thanks to both of you for enlightening people about the Baha'i Faith including myself.

  • So excited!
    author: Terri

When my girlfriend told me that S&C had come out with a new album, I was absolutely ecstatic........I immediately ordered it and have been telling all my friends who are just as excited........these haunting melodies are such a part of my teenage years that it's amazing how they can transport me back in a flash just by listening to them. And, the extra special addition of a new generation of S&C singers to listen to along with their talented dads is just wonderful.........talk about all in the family? LOL! AWESOME!

  • This is not two old guys rehashing their past.
    author: Bill McSherry

Seals and Crofts refine, and in some cases, reinterpret some great songs and some long forgotten ones. This may be the better version of 'Summer Breeze', and 'Euhprates' takes on a whole new character. The new songs rank with any of their better material. Not to be missed!

  • I love your Baha'i inspired work!
    author: George Ashworth

It was great to hear the likes of Hummingbird again. Every Baha'i knows where the title From Copper to Gold orginated. It was great to see and hear your daughters on this album. Keep up the good work and send more our way. Allah'u'Abha

  • They still sound great after all these years.
    author: Gary Speicher

New versions of their old tunes are classics in their own right. I also enjoyed the new releases. This CD enhances great memories of this wonderful duo.

  • Absolutely loved it!
    author: Fran Eury

They are my favorite group. Everything they do is great.

  • great music once again and we want more of it.
    author: Ken

a great remake of some oldies but goodies and a few new songs. This is a great cd for fans of this great group!

  • I couldn't stop listening to it!
    author: Rose

Wow! Seals and Crofts really did a fantastic job on this, and the backup singers were great! If you want to listen to a CD to relax and unwind after a tough day, this is it! I played the CD so much I thought I would wear it out! The music reminds me of times at the beach at night watching the stars glisten in all of their splendor. This is a must have CD! Thank you CD Baby for offering this one!

  • What an utter joy!!!
    author: Mrs. E. Schifferle

What a FEEL GOOD Cd this is.Seals and Crofts sound better then ever, and I would say have even more depth to their renditions of their songs this time around.Get it and keep it close by as it suites any mood!!!

  • Awesome --- brought back some GREAT memories
    author: Dan Weber

I thought the CD was awesome from start to finish! The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that none of the songs, especially Summer Breeze, was not the remix that alot of us loved and heard on the radio! Please offer some more remixes of the Old Stuff :)

  • Classics with a fresh twist
    author: Eddie

Don't know quite how to explain it, their music just always makes me feel good. I've been stopping by that guy's S&C website on a regular basis, waiting for news like this, and couldn't believe it finally happened! The classics on this new disc are comfortable, as always, but at the same time feel fresh with their new twists. I also enjoy the new material. How about a little tour, in support of the new cd, now?

  • They still have it and can still be haunting
    author: Leroy Kolacinski

I've been a Seals & Crofts fan since I was in grade school and have been anxiously awaiting this release for a long time. (It's release date was pushed back several times.) It was well worth the wait. Like others, I was somewhat disappointed to see so many "retreads" on the line-up. They are NOT "retreads." Not since their first two albums (later released as a double album on Warner Bros.) have they captured the eerie, almost haunting sound. I'm not sure how they got the vocals to recede into the background during the engineering, but it's a great atmospheric effect. (It does take some getting used to.) Jim and Dash harmonize as well today as they did "back in da day." A true fan who has dwelled on every S&C release will hear just a bit of aging in Jimmy's voice, but it takes a really finicky ear to hear it. Their offspring also have inherited their talents and add greatly to the effort. But I ramble. If you liked Jim and Dash years ago, buy this album. It will be a new twist on some old joys.

  • I feel like I am a teenager again
    author: Dena M. Clark

Great CD Sounds like old times again. Loved the new ones too. Please send us more of there music. Keep up the good work..

  • Old stuff better than ever, new stuff best forgotten
    author: Philly Joe

The reworking of classic S&C cuts is terrific. Richer, mellower sound, not the "shrill" AM sound of the originals. Their writing muse may have fled, but their performing muse lives on.

  • Wonderful... as expected
    author: Andrew

As expected, Seals and Crofts continues to play to please. Allah'u'abha !!

  • This CD should recieve #1 album of the year award.
    author: Christopher Lane

I would say this album is one of the greatest albums they done. I'd rate most of Seals&Crofts other albums 5 stars, too. My question, is why don't Seals&Crofts release their other albums on CD as well?

  • Wonderful way to revisit some favorite songs
    author: Patt Whitmore

I think I enjoy these versions of the original songs even better. Hummingbird is even more soulful. Thanks for the wonderful cd.

  • Terrific!
    author: Judy Jordan

I have been waiting a long time to hear this duo, once again. Traces is an excellent CD with harmonies comparable to none. Seals and Croft were terrific in the 70's and they sound every bit as good as they always have. I enjoyed all the remakes of my favorite songs, along with the new material. I hope these guys stay with us for a while - they are so entertaining.

  • Excellent - great find
    author: N R Hines

This is a great CD to revisit the old days with. The new versions on Diamond Girl and Hummingbird are outstanding. I would love to see a lot more of their work from farther back (Seals & Crofts I and II, Year of Sunday) on CD. I no longer have my records as they were scratched so badly from years of use!

  • surprisingly elegant remakes on S&C classics and beautiful new songs
    author: William Young

Traces grew on me with each hearing. New versions of S&C classics sung, played, and produced with elegance. All new versions better than the originals except 'Euphrates' and possibly 'Hummingbird'. New songs by Jim Seals are finely crafted and contemporary. Seals & Crofts still have the artistry and inspiration to make beautiful music. Their voices are as good if not better than they were 30 years ago.

  • Buy This - It's Great!
    author: Carol

If - as I did - you have been listening to the samples here and wondering whether or not to buy Seals & Crofts don't wait a moment more. The CD sounds even better when you own it. Great musis Seals & Crofts - can we have some more soon (and please include Windflowers).

  • Touched My Heart
    author: Barbara Cooper

Who knew that a remake could surpass the original? The new versions of my favorite Seals & Crofts music brought tears to my eyes. I sincerely hope there is more to come.

  • author: Dan Franks

It's great to hear these guys again after all these years. The CD is great, glad I bought it. Hope to hear more from them!

  • Great to hear these guys again!
    author: Scott

I was very surprised to find that this cd existed, and even more so, that it's as great as it is. To my ears, the new recordings of the hits-"Diamond Girl," "Summer Breeze," and "Hummingbird," particularly-sound better than the originals. The unfamiliar songs are good as well, but lack the hooks and commercial appeal of the radio favorites. Hopefully, someone will release all of Seals and Crofts old music in the future!

  • Very good! So nice to have music from Seals & Crofts, again
    author: Elaine

Didn't realize how much I missed the music of Seals & Crofts until I started hearing the newest version of "Summer Breeze" on the radio. Good to hear the old songs and the new ones on the CD. It's a good one.....I highly recommend it.

  • Great Music, enjoyed their C.D.
    author: Wayne LaCourt

Great music, my wife and i really enjoyed their music, loved the fact that their daughters sang back-up on the C.D.

  • Seals and Crofts still have it!!
    author: Barbara Duncan

It's a good thing CD's do not wear out like albums. We've only had the CD a short while but we've already listened to it so many times we've memorized all the new songs. We cannot say enough positive things about the new CD. Their music still touches your soul. When is the next CD coming out??

  • Still The Best
    author: Michael Miller

Buy this CD! You will love the subtle improvements to the classic songs. You will hear the new songs and realize just how great these guys are. Welcome back after too long an absence. This CD is an essential must have, and here's hoping we will hear more from these talented gentlemen soon.

  • author: Jens Jacob (Germany)

I give 4 Stars for this CD. It's great to hear S&C again. I hope, there'll be other albums from the 70's on CD like Unborn Child (my favourite).

  • Must Have Music
    author: Pablo Plasencia

I grew up listening to Seals and Crofts. Their intense spirituality and musicality seemed a perfect harmony. It is wonderful to hear this music sung with the experience that a lifetime can bring, resetting and restating such timeless classics. Bravo. This is a "must have" in any collection.

  • New Life to Great Classics -- Worth the Wait
    author: Jonathan H. Finglass

Like so many others, I have been waiting a long time for new material from my favorite '70's duo. I thought the day would never come. When I first saw the playlist of songs, I was disappointed that there were so many remakes. However, when I played the CD, I was very pleasantly surprised. Diamond Girl, We May Never Pass This Way Again, and Not be Found were excellent. Summer Breeze and Hummingbird were as good as the original versions (which is saying alot), Get Closer was so-so although I did love the use of Jim & Dash's daughters' voices in the song, and The Euphrates was a thumbs down (the original was much better). The 3 new songs very also very enjoyable. The ending part of Hummingbird on the redone version on this CD is great beyond words. In this case, Jim and Dash exceeded the original version which I did not think could be improved upon. With that said, I do strongly recommend this CD to all Seals & Crofts fans. I am begging Rhino to please, please, please, release their entire catalog on CD. I'll help anyone else who is interested in making that happen. Also, I would love to see Jim & Dash do a follow-up CD. Finally, CD Baby did a super job in promptly mailing out the CD. Jim & Dash, a lot of folks love your music -- we hope there is more to come.

  • It's been a long time coming but worth the wait.
    author: Heather C

I attended a free concert in Cincinnati before their first big hit and I've been a fan ever since. This CD brings back their unique sound in a fresh new way while keeping the Seals & Crofts style. I only hope this is a new beginning and not an end.

  • This CD is like visiting old and very loved friends
    author: Laura Feingold

Seals & Crofts have brought new life to some of their wonderful songs. Old fans will not be disappointed. Their voices have not changed one bit! There is no mistaking Jim's and Dash's voices. They updated Summer Breeze and it still makes me feel fine. Their daughters sing with them, and all their voices blend so beautifully. Change the Copper Into Gold is a new favorite of mine. I could go on and on, but buy the CD and give it a spin. You'll see what I mean. Welcome back, Jim and Dash! --laura

  • High quality musicianship just as I expected
    author: Shane Hall

The first CD I've bought in years but since I was always their biggest fan, it's no surprise. Loved every track. I'm now ready for the next one.

  • Great cd the music is excellant tracks paint you.

The cd of Seals&Crofts is great the tracks i like are paint you and change the copper into gold.

  • Awesome after all of these years new Seals and Crofts
    author: Scott Seavers

The wait is finally over. Seals and Crofts fans have been dying for new music and it has arrived. Jim and Dash are in fine form with the same sound they have had. This CD cries out to be played over and over again. From the remakes to the new tunes, it's a fantastic package. Makes a person want more. Buy many, share it with your friends. Welcome back Seals and Crofts!

  • Fantastic--as I expected....
    author: Wendy Scott

What can I say? It's as wonderful as everyone here has said. Some of it actually gave me goosebumps! Seals & Crofts were the music of my young adulthood. This CD is actually an improvement in many ways, if that's possible. We May Never Pass This Way Again and Hummingbird are amazing! It's all great, and I'm so glad our guys are back. :) CD Baby's service was excellent, too. Jimmy and Dash, may we have more, please?????

  • I'd forgotten..
    author: D Gleason

29 years ago, the first concert I ever went to was Seals and Crofts. Michael Murphy opened for them. I'd forgotten just how much I loved this music. The remakes are great, and I find myself playing this CD over and over. I do hope there is more in the future. I'm puting in an early request for Wayland the Rabbit. Thanks Jim & Dash!

  • Like meeting up with old friends after all these many years!
    author: Ron Matthews

Hearing the heavnly melodies on this CD is like becoming reacquainted with old and dear friends! The old songs are given new life in this wonderful album! So what's next for S&C?

  • Beautiful CD

I loved every single track in this CD. Even though some of the songs are classics that are played frequently on the radio, the arrangement is slightly different and it makes the songs feel totally brand new.

  • ninety-nine percent great; the other one percent will grow on you
    author: J Arthur Stormer

Well, this was certainly an exciting buy - the first album in twenty years. Those some more fanatic fans would dispise some of the changes made (a beautiful rendition of the intro to "Hummingbird"), I think that anybody who respects the duo's creative freedom would certainly love the ingenuity and perfection shown. I must say though that I did not like "Get Closer" for it's 'pop' sound, but I've grown to love it for it's tell-tale grooviness characteristic of every Seals and Crofts song.

  • Sounding as good as ever
    author: R. Kelly

Great to hear some good music and well written lyrics again. I hope this inspires some additional new songs from two very talented artists. Keep up the great work.

  • I am so HAPPY!
    author: Gretchen Hewitt

Like so many people I have longed for this. What brilliant lyrics, and what a gift Seals and Crofts have in creating a mood, thought feeling. Most definitely am ready for more. Really love the new songs. THRILLED with the old.

  • Jouth Revival
    author: Adel Badiian

Hey, these are the songs of my youth...remember them so well, great harmonies and voices combined with meaningfull lyrics, great thanks to Seals & Crofts.. they still give me a "gooseskin" so we say in Germany. The "new" humming Bird is fantastic, wish I could sing and produce one of my songs with You. Great service from CD-baby.. took a week from order 'till arrival in Germany

  • author: Brace

What a great pleasure to hear Seals and Crofts music again. The CD is great and I hope to see you touring in the near future. Saw the band many years ago in one of the best concerts ever at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts.

  • I really like this cd. Seals and Crofts did it again.
    author: Rodger

I really do like this cd. I especially like the song Paint You. I like all of the new songs as well as all of the old ones. I really think Paint You needs to be put on radio to help sell the cd. I could play Paint you all day long. I hope Seals and Crofts makes some more cd's. Way to go guys. Sincerely Rodger

Placed my order on Mon, got it on Wed. The CD is great, Seals and Crofts sound wonderful, and album notes hint at another one coming.

  • A wonderful CD!
    author: Don Harris

This is a wonderful CD. The songs are arranged in good order which allows them to flow into one another. The overall quality of this CD is exceptional!

  • A great CD of any age
    author: Brian

Forget for a moment that it's Seals and Crofts and most of the songs are 25+ years old and worn thin by "pop" FM radio. Listen to the tunes and try not to be moved. THIS IS A GREAT CD! The arrangements are excellent and the singing is inspired. This is a CD to save me from the woes of work, traffic, and life in general.

  • seals and crofts traces
    author: mitch connell

traces was a long time coming, but definitely worth the wait. it's amazing that after all these years that s and c are still in great voice. i'm happy to see that their talent has been passed to their daughters

  • This is NOT your parents S&C
author: Allan Michaels, Program Director: radioNUR

The CD includes new, fresh versions of 7 classic S&C tracks and 3 brand new songs. The ‘covers” are completely reworked versions of the classics. Purists may be disappointed because these tracks don’t “sound the same” as the original versions, but the collection showcases the talent and creative genius that made Seals & Crofts one of the most successful recording artists of the 70’s. These tracks sound fresh and new – this isn’t a “Best of…” (that’s available from Warner Bros). The three new tracks provide an exciting example of where Seals & Crofts would be, today, had their careers continued across the last 14 years. In fact, its amazing how tight Jim and Dash sound, after so long. Their last commercial release, "The Longest Road" was in 80. The guys made a short “tour” in 90. Otherwise, they've not worked together, much, until 2003, when they recorded this material, featuring a new production team and musicians. (There are no more "country" overtones on these recordings than there are on their entire WB catalogue). This CD should be of interest to fans old and new, alike. We're playing tracks from this CD in the hottest rotation on radioNUR.

    author: crazy canuck

This CD is great! They sound just as terrific as they did in the seventies. They're harmony is still outstanding and sweet as ever. And the daughters voices add just the right mix. The new version mixes are great too, in keeping with the times!

  • I feel young again.
    author: Kevin Bunte

I've been a Seals and Crofts fan for thirty years and for many of those have been going through withdrawls waiting for something like this. Their voices are as pure as they were back then and the new songs are comparable. Thank you Jim and Dash for this.

I liked the new song copper into gold, and the old songs were freshly and creatively done- especially liked euphrates with the background speaking voice - way cool. Also the song not be found was a great surprise all the way back from 60's !!!The taste of smoke is ecstasy sung even! Great CD ! Thanks to Seals and Crofts and CD Baby!

  • Seals & Crofts -- what took you so long??
    author: TK

Wonderful... doesn't disappoint -- those of us who wish we could hear more. How about releasing all the others on CD??

  • Absolutely Fantastic
    author: Eric from Columbus

This album exceeds all expectations, absolutely fantastic. I pray this is the beginning of many new albums. I also wish ALL their old vinyl albums would be released on CD. Everyone of them is a gem.

  • enjoyed Traces more than ever

enjoyed Traces more than ever! The harmony is sublime, and the balance is perfect! Awesome!

  • Seals & Crofts are very underrated.
    author: Mark Enbysk

Seals & Crofts are very underrated singers/songwriters/musicians, and also quite humble fellows. Consider for example Jim Seals' talent on the fiddle, Texas state fiddle champion at 9 years old! Then he went on to play sax in The Champs, and now I believe concentrates on the guitar. Dash Crofts played drums in The Champs, and now handles the mandolin quite well along with excellent vocals. There was talk in the Trace album notes of another album with all new songs. I hope this comes into fruition.

  • Welcome back, but I need to hear the other songs too
    author: Mark

This is a very good album. Now nearly 50, I remember when I was 17 and Seals & Crofts songs were mainstream. Though not mainstream anymore, they are better; they are now classics. My only wish is that the earlier albums were all available to purchase. This music needs to be out there for all to hear!

  • Great CD, their daughters should have been on more cuts though!
    author: Mark E. Layeux

I love this CD! I just wish the daughters would have sang on more cuts! Get Closer is wayyyyyyyy better than the original! Thanks for letting me participate! Mark in Minneapolis.

  • They're back!!!
    author: Tim

This is an excellent CD. Sounds like the Seals and Crofts of old. I am really glad they decided to reunite and put out a CD. The remakes of their hits are awesome!! And the new songs aren't so bad either. I most definitely would reccommend this to others!

  • Great CD
    author: Mel Smith

This CD is terrific and every song showcases their talent. Can't stop listening to this fabulous CD.

  • author: CD Baby

More than a reproduced CD, this is an event. Using current technology to infuse these classic songs with contemporary standards in crisp production quality, "Traces" takes you back through the cozy and familiar hits of Seals and Crofts, bringing the musical genius of the 70s to you in a polished package. From "Summer Breeze" to "Diamond Girl" any fan of this high profile band, as well as any fan of 70s pop, should make a point to treat himself to this gem.

  • it was worth the wait
    author: johno

it is so nice to here those two magic voices again, as well as their guitar and mandelin.the simplicity of not be found makes it my favorite.it sounds like it could have come from the down home album---true seals and crofts.it was worth the wait but don't stop now!God bless guys.

  • Great comeback material from this richly talented duo!
    author: Vahid

Great stuff! I can’t wait for the next one, which could, for example, include songs like East of Ginger Trees, Windflowers, Nine Houses, Funny Little Man, Say, Ashes in the Snow and Antoinette, coupled with three new songs. Cheers!

  • a breath of fresh air
    author: groundhog

I have ordered the new cd before ever hearing it. I have listened to the samples, however, and can only say this: Awesome!!!! I was so afraid that the remakes would disappoint, but it's just the opposite. With the exception of "the Euphrates" the removal of the strings and other heavier production elements of the older versions just give the songs a soulful, accoustic, deeper, more intimate "unplugged" quality. Rhino records now has the right to reissue old Warner Brothers albums, and had planned to release a sort of extended "greatest hits" cd later this year, but please everybody, help me to convince Rhino that S&C are just as deserving of a boxed set as so many other artists have; otherwise, how will we ever have "unborn child" and "the longest road" and "I'll play for you" on cd? In addition, such a re-release may be just the thing that might convince S&C that another new cd, and another, and another, might be a great thing to do!

  • this CD is awesome!
    author: Jennie and Jessie Gosso

The Traces CD is all we hoped it would be-Seals and Crofts' voices are as magical now as they were in the 70's.

  • Voices as good as ever - new renditions excellent
    author: Muriel Home

Wonderful to have this music on CD rather than LPs! Really enjoying the new songs. After the first playing we cranked up the sound and played it again, singing along, dancing around, with our resident drummer improvising with the music

  • author: mike nye

The only negative about this cd is that it has to end. S&C's harmonies soar like noone else, and the inclusion of their daughters on this cd is brilliant. Their voices blend beautifully with each other as well as with their Dads. The only thing better would be seeing these guys live again!

  • author: Mark Brown

The soaring harmonies of S&C are back. The intricate combinations of mandolin and guitar still contain the same purity of years ago. The liner indicates that maybe another project is in store? We can only hope. Great CD Jim and Dash. Traces is a good start, but don't stop here.

  • Mmmmmm....!!!!! Music to my ears, soothing balm to my soul.
    author: Gayle Hanke

Wonderful blend of new and familiar. Looking forward to more!

  • It's glad to have Seals and Crofts back....
    author: Jeff Crosby

I've been visiting the Seals and Crofts web site for more than a year, waiting for release information on Traces. I'm glad to say the CD was worth the wait. Jim and Dash have breathed new life into some standards, and have offered several superb new cuts. I do hope this is just the first of many new Seals and Crofts albums. I'll be in line to buy them all.

  • Seals & Crofts are back & better than ever!
    author: Sheldon

Seals & Crofts are back & in fine voice on TRACES. They sound just as good or even better than they did in the seventies! Great new versions of their old hits & some great newer songs as well! Buy this album - you will not be disappointed!

  • Great new remixes and great new songs!
    author: Melody Dodd

This long-awaited CD includes both MELLOW remixes and new songs that are heart-rending.

  • Great to visit with these friends again, missed them!!!
    author: Susan Nichols

They sound as great as ever. The songs bring back many gereat memories, but they are different and fresh enough to find new things every minute of the CD, and every time I listen. The song that really stands out is "Euphrates", with its three parts, the familiar song, the "talking blues"' and a haunting refrain. All three parts get your attention and keep it. It will take many listenings to hear it all. Please guys, more fantastic CDs in the future!!!

  • I love this music forever!
    author: Rogr Lee

Nothing stirs me (and compells my own song!) more than hearing astonishing artists sharing their processes of maturation... these are wonderful new productions, and just to hear their trademark voices as they are today, in richness, depth and harmony - this is bliss, dear Jimmy and Dash! Long may you live!

  • I've been waiting a long time - it was worth it!
    author: Bob Ryan

Rerecording well known material is a gamble for any artist, but this effort is great! The arrangements suit the timeless quality of the songs. The newer songs stand up brilliantly with the older material. This CD is truely a treat and a treasure - thanks you guys!

  • "Traces" is another wonderful example of Jim and Dash's superb talent.
    author: Michael Pinto

This long overdue recording is absolutely beautiful. The older songs were re-arranged in a very tasteful manner breathing new life into them. Songs like Get Closer and Hummingbird can be said to rival the original recordings. The newer songs prove that Seals and Crofts can change with the times and create fresh sounding music that is relevant for today. Excellent work!!!

  • great cd glad your recording again don't stop
    author: jim hill

cd is unusual but great glad s & c are recording again its been a long time wish there were more tracks

  • More beautiful music from these two great singer/songwriters.
    author: Teague C.

A breath of fresh air! It's a pleasure to hear new recordings of these already superbly crafted tunes. I'm only 32 years old, but have been a fan of Seals and Crofts since high school. This is the CD I have been waiting for. The instrumentation, especially the strings are fresh, pure and wonderful!

  • Welcome Back, Jim and Dash!! TRACES is GREAT!
    author: Bill Thompson

What a treat to hear a new album from Seals & Crofts! Great to hear new versions of the old favorites, and the new songs continue the standard of excellence that Jim and Dash have always brought to their music. Thanks for TRACES!

  • I've been a fan for 25 years. This is a great CD. Didn't realize how much I've
    author: Martha

The new treatments of the classics are great. Just enough tweaking to make them sound new again. I've really enjoyed the new songs. The arrangements are interesting and their signature vocal harmony is right on the money! I especially enjoyed the new Get Closer. I actually like it better than the original. Great CD!
