notes
This CD by Scott Martin throws a lot of tasty flavors into one skillet. Scott grew up in a musical family (in fact, most of them play on this CD) and was influenced by all the music played in the house. His father plays trumpet and was into big bands and Louie Armstrong. His mother played string bass and was into classical and Aretha Franklin. His brothers were into bebop, funk, and everything in-between. Then he and his brothers got the gig with PONCHO SANCHEZ LATIN JAZZ BAND and Scott stuck around for over 12 years, winning a GRAMMY, playing all over the world and getting exposed to all kinds of latin music. Tito, Machito, Chombo Silva, Mongo..... not to mention funk, soul, cumbia, meringue, salsa.....
Throw this all into a cooking pot and you have "Menudo & Gritz" Scott Martin's latest CD. 'An Intoxicating Blend of Latin and Soul'.
