Scott Free, the queer-rock singer/songwriter extraordinaire, has quickly become one the country's leading openly-gay male artists.

His sometimes humorous, sometimes angry, always touching songs of queer life have gained him acclaim in both gay and straight media across the country.

His 1999 release "The Living Dead" was nominated for 4 Gay/Lesbian American Music Awards.

He joins an infamous lists of artists who's works have been banned by government agencies (the City Hall of Chicago in the winter of 2001).

He hosts the annual QUEER IS FOLK FESTIVAL at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, now in it's 5th year.

He is currently the host of HOMOLATTE a weekly queer performance series at Soul Cafe in Chicago.

Like all true rock & rollers, Scott got his start in gospel music - he sang falsetto soprano for the Lavender Light Gospel Choir of New York City.

His early forays into rap produced his first single "Beat The Rap", who's video aired on Black Entertainment Television.

He debuted his hardcore punk songs with a trio at Homocore-Chicago's Fourth Anniversary show at the historic Fireside Bowl.

    I love Scott Free, and since I am from Chicago I like him even more. A fresh blast of homo-core fusing old school punk like the Dead Boys. Utilizing political lyrics that hit home to alot of people. I can't wait to hear his new CD!

    Getting Off is a remarkable, intense record. I usually don't like music with lyrics that are overtly political, as are some here, but the messages are delivered in such powerful, and appropriate music, that I can't complain. Musically, the arrangements and the guitar work are superb, and the songs impeccably produced. And I can't get some of the songs (esp. Garbage Man, When I Was Alive, and He Seduced Me) out of my head! Why didn't I hear about this CD sooner?
