Marie Schumacher is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist who has released three CDs of original acoustic rock music, Sometimes at Night (2007), Inside Looking Out (2001) and Invisible to the Naked Eye (1999). Her main influences include Everything but the Girl, Chrissie Hynde, Annie Lennox, and the Cowboy Junkies. Her songs have been featured on KFOG and KUSF in San Francisco.
Marie has played on both coasts with several bands, including Agent 99 (60's retro-pop), the John Mariz Trio (jazz), the Big Picture (R & B), and Andrea Hurley (folk-rock). She was also the musical director of Harvard-Radcliffe Opportunes, an a cappella doo-wap ensemble.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Marie has lived in Washington, DC; Mexico City; the San Francisco Bay Area; and Portland, OR, where she currently resides and performs regularly, both solo and with her band.

Good stuff
author: CharlieLove the voice! Pretty clear but also dark - it sounds just right with the folky songs. "Everybody knows" is my favourite one but the others are also beautiful. I like listening to the CD - why don't you give it a try as well?

author: underground williethis is an excellent addition to my cd collection. very solid collection of songs. marie's voice is very enjoyable to listen to and there is no song on the cd i would want to throw out. well done!
