notes
The Scared Stiffs are drop dead punk & roll from New York City! Fresh out of a boneyard, the Stiffs have been crypt-kickin' ass everywhere they've played, leaving trails of sweat-drenched grinning victims in their wake. Pulling from the New York Dolls to Johnny Cash, The Scared Stiffs lash out with their own brand of flaming garage punk. Belting out future classics about ghouls, girls, creatures and cars. Throw in B-movies, booze, devil dolls, guitars and you'll get the picture.
After a successful debut album and two years on the road, the band returns with the concept record, The Last Horror Movie. The new CD is enhanced to includes the band's awesome new video of the title track. Together with a 16 page photo booklet and a cool domed cover logo, this disc is an instant collectors item.

Oh Yeah, Baby
author: Victoria J SmithI loved this album as much as the first one. My favorite song is Let's Put the Fun in Funeral. I want this played when I die. The title track is fun and easy to sing along with. Dirt napping (hell yeah) has very enjoyable lyrics. I am going to purchase another cd for my best friend.

I love this disc. A monster mash-up of lots of great styles united under the flag of pure garage rock! "Dirt Nappin'" sounds like a lost Some Girlsy Stones classic, "6 Feet Under" and "Knoxville Girl" sound like what would happen if The Supersuckers returned from the dead. While "Frankenstein", "Last Horror Movie" and "Body Shoppin'" are totally unique slabs of neo-classic, tongue-in-cheek horror rock. I can't find anything bad to say these guys, because judging by the jewel box candy and accompanying spook-inspiring video... they'd hunt me down, kill me and eat me if I did!

The whole albumn is killer, but I can't stop playing "Some Things Are Better Left Undead"! There is something in this song that talks to me (you know what I mean). Body Shoppin' is great and it reminds me of a time in my life when I was going out almost every night. It really makes me want to stay up and party. "She's Got a Frankenstein" is another one that drives me crazy. When I am driving around looking for fun its got to be "There's No Wonder I'm 6 Feet Under" on my radio. The whole CD is great and it even comes with a monsterous video. Everyone should buy a copy of this CD before they're dead.

author: otto winoI’m a big fan of all things horror, but often when you crack open a horror-themed cd, they’re pretty one-dimensional. Not this record – The Scared Stiffs are truly 3-D! This ain’t your garden variety Necro-billy or rehashed Misfits, this is great songwriting wrapped in a serious sonic wall of sound. At the heart of it is sweaty, desperate garage rock, but if you give it a listen, you’ll feast on elements of punk, country, and the blues all buried in a trashy 70’s glammed up casket. The guitars boil like a drugged up Chuck Berry in Alice Cooper makeup while the rhythm section lays down the law with hard-hitting self-assurance. This record is about as slick as you can get while still maintaining the raw hellfire of rawk n roll. Along with the high voltage, expect the unexpected – harmonies, poignant tributes to beheading and dead girls… even a zombie samba break thrown in for good measure. I understand they’ve got three separate vocalists, but the differences are subtle and the whole package feels like a tight band with an evil plan. Also, more than once I’ve found myself cracking up at some of the lyrics. Always a bonus for me. “You think you’re hip in your new cape, but I won’t tell it’s our old drape…” All in all a great new addition to the library that’s feels familiar enough for me to love, but sounds like nothing else I currently own. Couple of tasty covers from The Boss Martians, Bleed and the 3-D Invisibles, too. And if that’s not enough to raise your dead, there’s a shit load of great color photos and a cool video for Last Horror Movie right on the disc. Thank God (or whoever you worship) for bands like The Scared Stiffs who are out there keeping this undead genre alive!
