These Maui Singer/Songwriters have created a loving portrait of the people and places of Hana, Maui, as well as poke fun at some tourists along the way. In addition, this CD features some exceptional slack key guitar and ukulele by Wilson Kanakaole.

notes
This CD combines an island feel (slack key guitar, ukulele and Hawaiian percussion instruments) with a folk "story-telling" style of songwriting, featuring songs written about the beautiful places and people of Hana, Maui. Songs such as "Stone by Stone" and "A Dancer's Hands" provide wonderful stories of the history of this small Hawaiian town. Songs such as "The Road To Hana" and "Poi Boy" offer a tongue-in-cheek look at tourism, while "Hold On To The Land" is a poignant song about the fight to protect the precious land and fragile culture of Hana. For anyone who's been to Hana, Maui - this is a "must not be missed" treasure. For the rest of you, it's simply a delightful musical experience - one you'll certainly enjoy.
Steve and Kathy Sargenti have appeared in concert with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Willy Nelson, Pat Simmons, Michael McDonald, Los Lobos, Norton Buffalo and Leo Kottke. In addition to their own recording projects, they have recorded both album and film score tracks with Kenny Loggins, Davis Grisman, Joe Weed, as well as many popular Hawaiian artists.
They are featured performers at music festivals in the Hawaiian Islands and miraculously manage to make a living in the Hawaiian resort industry playing almost entirely original music.
Their island blend of great writing, vocals and world-class musicianship add up to a duo that shouldn't be missed.

Thank You SO MUCH CD Baby for having this favorite!
author: Tina SutherlandI was so glad to find this beloved album after my first copy got damaged. It wasn't easy to find, but CD baby came through! The title song just sums up Hawaii for me. Thank you for the pleasure it has brought me.
Great music, you'll be singing along.
author: TedSteve and Kathy Sargenti's songs about Hana in particular and Maui in general will give you a Maui smile long after you've come back home. Fun and engaging one minute, serene and relaxing the next. Steve's Road to Hana and Kathy's Coconut Pie are my favorites.
Love it! I haven't pulled it out of the CD player in 3 days!
author: goto636The wonderful lyrics, marvelous vocals of the Sargentis and the gorgeous instrumentation make this CD one you’ll want to hear over and over. Listening to it on my way to work I feel like I'm headed for the Islands instead of a job. I even kept driving one day and had to make myself go back! This CD was a great discovery!
