"A unique opportunity to see and experience the Sara K. live and intimate performance. For quality this DVD from Stockfisch Records is the closest to it you can get. Recorded at the Zuckerraffinerie (sugar refinery) in Braunschweig, Germany, this is an audiophile recording of the Sara K. Nautilus Tour 2002 and features Chris Jones on guitar and dobro."
NOTE: this DVD is available in PAL format only. It is playable on most computer programs but not all DVD players from the U.S.

  • A GREAT DVD !!!
    author: Nobuo Kutomi

Quite impressive music DVD. This has certainly earned the top 5 on my list and I can say that this DVD is on top of all! It toppled James Taylor's Live at Beacon Theather (an award-winning, high quality sound engineering artpiece). I didn't have problems in getting this played, as I used a very budget DVD player (which cost me less than 50 USD new). I cannot play it on my regular DVD player which is in NTSC. This is a must DVD, for those who cares more about the audio quality. MANY THANKS!!!

  • Perfect
    author: Craig Sherriff

This DVD is excellent, the vocals are soft, superb and make your speakers sing!! The music and the sound reproduction takes me to peaceful places in my mind, i feel myself lost in the music - This DVD will take pride of place in the DVD collection. Thanks CDBaby....

I first listened to Sara K on a B+W sampler and thought that she was astonishing. I bought the DVD and I really love it. It plays fine on my USA player as the disc region is zero (0). Somehow my player converts the PAL format to 1080i and the picture is wonderful on my 42" plasma. The sound is exceptional and is one of the finest live recordings that I have ever listened to. I highly recommend it to anyone who truly appreciates high quality vocals and guitar play.

heard it on B&W demo. would like to get it in USA in DTS. Whats the chances?

  • Not Playable on USA Televisions
    author: Karl

Maybe we can get Sara to offer this DVD encoded in NTSC instead of PAL format. I first learned of her and Chris from an amazing free DVD from B&W speakers showcasing outstanding artists. The vocals and acoustics will certainly make you want to hear more, just outstanding sound and recording, now if we can just get the video to play on our TV's in the USA and Canada!

  • Not Compatible with US DVD Players
    author: Rich K.

I bought and then immediately returned this DVD because it is not compatible with any Home DVD players in the United States. It does play on computer DVD drives, but who wants to watch and listen to a great DVD on a computer with crappy speakers? However, I recommend this DVD to anyone who lives in Europe because this DVD will play on European DVD players. It is a steller DVD in terms of audio quality. Anyone who lives in the US should steer clear of this one.

Dear Sara, I have a wonderful memory of Chris playing me this c.d late one night in June this year, so had to send for the D.V.D, which is a joy to watch, your wonderful voice together with his astonishing guitar...quite irreplaceable. wishing you all the best in the future. Penny.

  • One shortcoming
    author: Stephen DeGray

DVD won't play on either of my home DVD players, but does on computer. Who cares, I get to see and hear my favorite living artist. Stockfish-better than Chesky.

  • Unbelievable quality from dolby format
    author: Werner Frohn

Over the last 10 years I have been investing quite a bit in new formats like SACD and DVD Audio and high resolution / special recording cd's like gold CD, XRCD, et cetera. I was completely flabbergasted when I heard this DVD recorded in simple (compressed) dolby format. Not even DTS. Also, the way that it was recorded (close microphone recording) gives you that special "presence" in which you hear some of the subtile sounds like a finger stroke hitting a string on a guitar. Add to this the beautiful, hush voice of Sara and the magnificant guitar play by Chris Jones, and you are starting to day dream. Track 5 still gives me goose bumps.

  • .....a 10 out of 10
    author: Patrick van der Bergh

As for sound, I can tell you that I have a new reference-DVD...This DVD is a must have and must buy for everyone who likes Sara K. and is interested in guitar-music, strong and good woman vocals or everyone interested in audiophile recordings.
