notes
Entertainment Weekly, 2002
"...third-generation folkie straddles ... styles her family made famous .... she can prick up our ears even without her name."
Sing Out Magazine, 2002
"The music illustrates the songs as much as it supports them, and that is a rare quality."
Album Description
This first release from Sarah Lee Guthrie is an eclectic mix of original tunes with an exquisite and haunting cover of Hoyt Axton's "In a Young Girl's Mind".
Her songs display a tremendous versatility and originality while her pure voice captures all the emotion of a veteran singer. Her songs cascade from to another - each a unique visit to a place that sounds strangely familiar.
She has a deep pool to draw from for musical support. Her back up musicians include her husband Johnny, father Arlo and brother Abe, Pete Seeger's grandson Tao Rodriguez-Seeger, David Grover and other talented friends.

Folk at its best!
author: CharlieThis is a beautiful CD and no real fan of folk music should miss it. Sarah's haunting vocals and the lovely instrumentation take you to small towns and great landscapes. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes full of energy and always really good!
Musical glimpses of a future Superstar; superb pure folk voice
author: Jean SmithMusical glimpses of a future Superstar; superb pure folk voice...a mini Rosanne Cash and Dolly Parton in one. Varied tunes show off versatility; Can't wait for next release.
