notes

Sarah Brown is an emerging voice in Christian and family music. Sarah began writing music at age 7 but developed a focus around age 15. Her lyrics come from two places: the pages of the Bible and the pages of hymnals. But her music comes from within. Her classical training and her love for folk and ethnic music are the primary musical influences you’ll hear. She currently has a catalogue of over 150 songs, and has recorded three albums so far—These Words, I Belong to Jesus, and most recently, Emmanuel.

Sarah’s influences range from folk and acoustic to classical and world music. Some of her songs bear an Armenian, French, or even Celtic feel. Sarah has a gift to match the sound of the music to the message in the texts she chooses. She uses the sounds of the piano and her beautiful voice to create music to develops your soul.

Sarah is passionate about music and exploring how music can not only connect us to God but how musical expressions of His Word can bless His people by helping them to hear its message in an artistically compelling way. Her hope is that as a result people will have God's Word milling about their hearts, taking root, and bearing fruit in obedience!

She uses the hymns she re-writes to connect with saints of the church. Hymns have a unique place because they span across the experience of our lives with such poetry and completeness While they include worship, the also go beyond into all the places of our daily lives which require faith responses.

So, put her CD in for a spin and listen as the music communicates old and new truths in fresh enjoyable ways.
