notes
A few years ago, Tom Saputo got together with some fantastic musicians based in the Washington D.C. area. Tom decided to take several songs that he liked, but put some inventive arrangements to them. The use of cool substitutions are found throughout this CD. Tom's piano playing is reminicent of Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson at times, but he has his own style. The other players are some of the greatest players in the area including Steve Sachse on bass and Mike Aubin on drums.
You are really going to love...Summer Standards!

Tom Saputo - Blue City ( Blues CD with some electrifying playing)All instruments and vocals by Tom)
The Jangles -Volume One and Volume Two ( Beatle type pop music all played by Tom!)
Tom Saputo grew up in the 60's highly
influenced by the Beatles and other
60's groups. His older brother John was also a big influence on Tom. In the 70's and 80's he became a big jazz fan including fusion jazz
and big band jazz. Tom confesses to loving all types of music from country to classical. He started playing in bands when he was 8 years old. He soon became proficient in many different instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums and even played the trumpet and sax. He has been a professional musician in the Washington D.C. area for many years and also has a successful recording studio. He currently lives in Burke, VA.

Enviable Orginality, Major Label Quality
author: Keith Scott (Eroica Records Artist)Just listened to this CD for the first time and can't wait to share it with friends and fellow musicians. This project makes standards funky, jazzy and fun. Superb arranging, musicianship, and vocals. Should have a 10 star rating for this gem. Repeat listening is unavoidable.
BRILLIANT!!!
author: Ron Kert -- Tampa, FloridaVery innovative arrangements -- smooth, jazzy, ultra-tasty vocals by Tom -- superb playing by Tom and friends. I especially liked the creative, jazzy interpretations of John Lennon's "Imagine" and Bonnie Raitt's hit "I Can't Make You Love Me". As usual, Tom plays monster piano.
