Santonio Echols is one of the first wave of techno producers out of Detroit. Forming the famed group Reese and Santonio. But,today... Kevin Saunderson claims to be reese and santonio and myself, Santonio. This is a untrue claim. There first 12 inch single on KMS Records the "Sound" and "How to play our music" Three months later there 2nd 12 inch was released "Force field" and "Bounce your body" with the "Sound" remix... Reese and Santonio began to have a following especially after there release on London ffrr Records "Rock to the Beat" In 1989 Reese and Santonio recorded there 4th release in London, England "Truth of self evidence" "Structure" and "Grab the beat" for ffrr Records. That was a underground hit in Europe. After Santonio's last release as Reese and Santonio, he signed a production deal with Paragon Records. Producing "Its not over" vocals by Mia Hesterly on the compilation "No way out" Remixing The House Keepers along side of James Pennington aka Suburban Knight..... "How you play the game" and "Take me away" by Bridgette Grace on Polydor Records. Soon after......SIREN Records was established in the fall of 1990 by Duane Evans and Santonio Echols formerly of the famed group Reese & Santonio. The labels goals were to create music that not only made people Dance in the clubs, but to also move their souls. SIREN Records first release was in the spring of 1991 by Santonio, and early glimpse of the Techno sound. This 12 inch included Techno and House Thats where its at and Your country The track was very successful in Germany. The label changed its name to CYREN Records. Releasing The key to Heaven and Its just a groove vocals by Mischievous. This 12-inch did very well selling close to 4,000 units. Three months later CYREN released Kisses by the soulful singer DIONNE from Toronto, Canada, which received major, acclaim from BILLBOARD Magazine writer Larry Flick. Our next release was in the fall of 1992; Clouds of Thunder brought a return to Santonio house roots and also well received from his audience. As it was written by Chris Tortilla a writer from Canadian magazine Street Sounds. In 1993 CYREN was at a steady pace, a release from Alton Miller I like having you now considered a house classic among D.Js. Santonio produces another track under Nubian Nation Spirits fall down mixes by Duane Evans. In 1994 CYREN released three more tracks, Deep cover now considered Tech House. A remix to I like having you, and Rhythm in Motions cover version of Hit on you vocals by Felicia Stevenson. 1995 saw a different direction in the label as Santonio started concentrating more on licensing tracks to TRESOR Records in Berlin, React Records, INFONET, Express and BPM Recordings. While Duane Evans had established a residency at Time Square. And the label dissolved in late 1995. After a dormant of 10 years Cyren was resurrected and restructured.
