notes

The psychedelic indie/weird/metal/experimental collective known as SAMUS debuts with Desangano And The Squat Thrust Coolatron Voyager, a 9 song descent into absolutely twisted stoner-doom-metal/indie rock/ far-out experimental terrain.
Heavy sludge-rock riffs and swampy slide-blues jams collide with turntable wreckage, spaced out electronica, and killer noisy avant-rock circa late-80's SONIC YOUTH.

Fans of BOREDOMS, BLACK SABBATH, SONIC YOUTH, ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE, EARTH, and THE BETA BAND take note...SAMUS has come to wreck your mind.

This Cd is simply amazing. The sound of the album is pretty well summarized in the description above.... the album fluctuates between doomy-groove-sludge-rock with distorted, screaming vocals, and beautiful and bizarre sound collage music – made from found objects, samples, synths, video games, etc. All the while, it manages to remain cohesive and interesting for the entire length of the album. The tracks, for the most part, are very long, but each contains many different sections – each of which is unique and interesting. ------ i would call SAMUS a cross between the MELVINS, and early BECK (stereopathetic soulmanure). it has a lo-fi feel to it and it just ROCKS. it never seems to dull. this cd will stay in my cd player for a long time.
