Not only does she enjoy singing, but she is also a songwriter. She has co-written three of the songs on her self titled CD Samantha Jo, These Days, (which won the National Songwriting contest in Nashville) He's always There and Time for Summer.
She has traveled from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Chicago, Illinois, Branson, Missouri, Los Angeles, Calif, Nashville, Tenn and Flandreau, SD to perform at various events. In June 2003 she was televised on the American Music Showcase in Nashville, Tenn,, premiering with one of country's greatest, Hank Cochran.
Her latest journey has taken her to Nashville, 01/04 as a winner of the National Songwriting Contest sponsored by Terri Clark and the Crisis Intervention Center. She was honored on stage at the benefit and was thrilled to sing at the famous Blue Bird Café in Nashville. In October 2004, she performed at "The Legends" in downtown, Nashville.
Testimonials
The first time I heard Sam sing, I remember thinking, "how is such big sound coming out of someone that small". But the only thing small about Samantha Martin is her stature - her voice, presence, and potential are off the hook
Large ! Samantha has the skills and charm to go far in this business. I hope she remembers me someday when she's accepting her Grammy!
Ryan North - Youth Performance Company - Mpls, Mn - Education Director
"You could have heard a pin drop at Samantha's debut performance at the Bluebird Café in Nashville. When she sings you can't take your eyes off her. She shines with that rare combination of great talent, honesty, and stage presence that makes a star."
Bruce Michael Miller - Songwriter - singer - Nashville, Tenn

GREAT DEBUT CD
author: Jay TilstonI look forward to hearing more from Samantha Jo, she deserves to do well and its always nice to hear self-penned songs on a debut release. The tracks are very commercial and well produced, all in all a GREAT DEBUT CD!

This CD is very good and I like the songs/messages a lot. I found it very compelling once I started to listen and I just could not turn it off!
An Undiscovered Gem
author: SilkyGreat songs, and sung beautifully. What I really love is the songs are mixed to really showcase her beautiful, sweet voice. I hate when the vocals aren't prominent enough, since I think the lyrics and vocals are the most important part of a song. I hope someone hears this who has the power to get her more exposure and that someday I can buy her CD in the local music store.

Samantha Jo Martin stands out as an excellent young country artist and is one to keep your eye on. For such a young voice, her emotional delivery and clarity is striking, her conviction and vocal strength in stunning. Her self-titled album soars through upbeat rockers to warm ballad-like tracks, each delivered with equal honesty and feeling. We'll be expecting great things from her in the future.
