Sal Sage sings and plays Traditional Western Music and has since the beginning of his musical career some 55 years ago. He has been compared to his idol Gene Autry. He has a soft drawl and comfortably rolls into key honing his smooth dulcet style. His band is made up of seasoned musicians who are stars in their own right.
Sage is a former San Franciscan. Growing up near the Union Stockyards and Butcher Town. “It wasn’t the San Francisco of today”, say’s Sal. Folks were driving cattle in the area where Third Street is now. During the day he rode horses and fed cattle. He began his musical career working for H. Moffett Meat Company advertising for them at their Butcher Shops.
He has entertained at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale for 29 years. He was at the San Francisco Cow Palace - Grand National Livestock Expo. for some 20 years, and the Graven stein Apple Fair for 15 years. He worked in many TV commercials. The latest was A Cherokee Jeep Commercial others were for Swanson T.V. Dinners, MJB Coffee, and M& M's Candy which he did the back ground Vocals.
