notes
Sally's Gap is a is the Celtic rockin' union of "Johnny the Fox" of Dublin, The Warsaw Poland Bros., and world class violin/viola player Jimbo Ross. The current group formed in 2002 in Santa Monica after playing the venue Johnny Foxes.
The title of the CD is taken from the stage name of our most loved band member, Monkey Bone, half Cherokee half Polish Jew. Monkey bone studied trombone at Northern Arizona University under DR.Pete Vivona. Needless to say he is easily one of the most innovative trombonists in the land. The title track Monkey Bone has a copyright in the Library of Congress ten years before inspiring the Hollywood movie of the same name.
This disc mixes Celtic melodies with Ska rhythms making for a truly new world take on old world ideas. Grab a pint and prepare to skank all night to this disc of modern day buccaneer music.
