“RyeHollow digs deeper than the typical folky girl pop that bombards the airwaves these days. With lyrics that are insightful and revealing, its pop that has found a way to be eloquent and concise, elegant and organic.” - Tamara Turner, Editor CD Baby

notes
Where would we be without the chance meeting? Were it not for a chance meeting, three very talented musicians would not have created a sound that has garnered so much attention in such a short time.
RyeHollow is lead vocalist Breanna Paletta, guitarist Kevin O'Loughlin, and bassist Chris Chard. They met through "Deep Roots", a project at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, OR, which pairs high-school lyricists with local musicians. Their own version of pop is blended with alt-country, blues and rock to make RyeHollow's unique and emotive, stripped down music.
In the past year, RyeHollow's single "Where I Come From" was added to rotation on Portland's KINK FM and got airplay on 27 other radio stations across the US. They were featured on KINK's 8th annual compilation CD, KINK LIVE 8, and opened for Tori Amos at the KINK LIVE 8 show. They headlined several summer festivals and opened for Blue Merle, Johnny A, Dave Mason, Ringside and Collective Soul.
RyeHollow is one of the featured artists in UMPQUA Bank’s discover Local Music program. The Pacific Northwest’s largest community bank launched the unique program connecting customers with the region’s top artists. RyeHollow is one of the first bands whose album will be sold in UMPQUA’s stores.
The highly anticipated, first full length album, "Hearts Like These" will be released in the spring of 2006. KINK added RyeHollow’s new single “Any Way You Say It” two months before the CD release. This makes them the first unsigned band to have 2 adds to the mogul radio station’s regular rotation.
“I must say that “Any Way You Say It” is a hit song; RyeHollow has hit one out of the park with this song!”
-Dennis Constantine, Program Director KINK FM

It's the kind of music that energizes, the kind of writing that inspires and the kind of band that could've only happen by a chance meeting.

Love it!
author: KipWhat a find! I ran across this group while visiting a Portland venue site (Doug Fir Lounge). Great vocals and instrumentation, and I can certainly relate to many of the lyrics. Shades of The Cranberries and John Mayer on a couple of tracks. I will definitely see this group live.

author: Patsy ZollarsFantastic CD...Very Buckingham/Nicks inspired. Her voice reminds me of the first time I heard Stevie Nicks or Natalie Merchant. Beautiful.

An exciting sequel to their knock-out, self-titled debut, RyeHollow's "Hearts Like These" follows the same personal, dynamic approach that they first established from the get-go. Carried and driven by Breanna Paletta's well-suited vocals, which seem to encompass both a breathy sensitivity mixed with a no-nonsense, forthright quality, these songs range from jangly folk pop to introspective pseudo-ballads, at times reminiscent of Mindy Smith and Kasey Chambers but always highly original and boldly committed to a personal sound. For any listener even remotely fond of female folk pop, this is an up and coming group to take note of and watch closely.
