Neighbor girl - "other countries have so much to offer to your ears". Brilliant and tender voices along with contemporary arrangements give new sounding to the old Ukrainian songs

notes

THE NEIGHBOR GIRL is the second album by Rushnichok. Rushnichok was founded in 2005 by composer, producer and arranger Alexsey Zakharenko AKA Origen and two Ukrainian National Opera House singers: Tanya Lubimenko, who earlier sung for Origen’s new age albums "Ave Maria" and "New Age Opera" (both CDs available on www.cdbaby.com/origens/from/origenmusic ), and Miroslav Grishenko. You can easily guess that their masterly performance is at a high level as well as music and arrangements. Three songs on this album were specially adapted, arranged and produced in new age manner by Origen. These songs are: "If only I have an eagle’s wings", "A song to the hill", "Green leafy grove". So, NEIGHBOR GIRL can be described as Ukrainian folk music meets pop and new age. Hope you will enjoy all the beauty of the Ukrainian songs while listening NEIGHBOR GIRL. It is always a pleasure to touch something harmonious and nice, right?

Both Albums reflect the essense of the Ukrainian soul. The music is sad, joyous, celebrative and reverent all at the same time.and performed by artists who mean what the sing. I recently visited the country of my birth, and these songs are part of the rich tapestry that is Ukraine

Music from the country of my forebears, unfortunately I cannot understand or speak the language but the music and words are almost self explanatory. Very easy to listen to in any circumstance. Music for the soul.

I grew up going to many ukrainian concerts and dances, both as a participant and audience. I remember the beautiful songs, traditional clothing and everything was truly from the heart. We used to go to camp and sing a lot of these songs around the campfire. I haven't heard this lovely of a sound in a long, long time.
