notes
Rotsen Prez resides in Puerto Rico Island, located in the Caribbean Sea, and he is a jazz fusion musician who interprets different styles of music, such as traditional jazz, fusion, blues, rock and funk. He is a self-taught guitarist, singer, and song writer. In fact, his real name is Nestor Perez and he holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering. Currently, he is a full professor at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez campus and a musician on weekends. Music lovers know him as Rotsen Prez who performs as a solo artist (one-bad orchestra) or as a band, depending on the particular occasion. Anyway, Rotsen Prez finds academic freedom in music. Basically, music is the soul and heart of humans, the source for soothing the mind, and the universal language. Listening to music is virtually a state of mind. Listen to musical notes and how they connect each other, leading to a critical thinking process. If it is jazz, then improvisations are spontaneously carried out, virtually without thinking, representing a feeling of freedom based on mood and rhythm.
