notes
Rose Rossi is a 24 year old Los Angeles native. From an early age, her parents (both are actors) instilled the love of artistic expression in Rose and her younger sister. They insisted that both daughters study piano, although Rose dreaded lessons and described practicing as a form of torture. To get out of piano lessons she swore she would love music more if only her parents got her a guitar. Indeed, it was true. Rose had found a new best friend. Not only did she practice but she began writing songs. "Guitar became my tool for exploration and expression. I used it to 'dig deep'," she says with a smile.
Her first performing experience came when she was just 11 after starting a band with a couple of friends from school. Rose has always been a natural leader, although she does admit, "I earned the name Bossy Rossi as a kid."
During high school at an all-girls school in Pasadena, Rose formed a new band with some guys in the area, playing gigs at clubs in Hollywood. Around this time, she resumed studying piano, this time with keyboardist and music producer, Cliff Brodsky. Brodsky recognized Rose's raw talent and flair for performance, and offered her a development deal. However, the sessions were short lived when Rose decided to move to New York and enroll at Sarah Lawrence College. "It was so important for me to get out of my comfort zone and explore. New York was crazy and I was nuts!"
Rose continued to write and play at cafes and open mics in NY. She also traveled to Italy, studying in Florence and Sicily. "Traveling was inspiring to me and obviously changed my perspective. In addition to all of the stimulation of new surroundings and culture, I found myself spending a great deal of time by myself for the first time, and this was new and fulfilling."
After college Rose moved back to Hollywood and reconnected with Brodsky, they began working hard on studio demos of the tunes Rose had penned over the prior years. At the same time, they began putting together a band and collaborating on new material. Within six months, they began proper recording and Rose's debut album was born, entitled Hello To You.
"All of these songs represent honest moments in my life. They are the revelations of coming into my own, being okay with being angry, or clinging to my little girl tendencies. Growth meant coming to terms with the surprises that revealed themselves in my personality, and learning that it all is okay. As long as you stay truthful it's all okay."
The album is due for an early 2008 release, and Rose plans to support its release with plenty of touring. She explains, "Now that the process of recording is over, I am looking forward to getting back out to perform this material live. The theatrics of the whole experience gives an excitement and energy that brings the material alive in a special way."

Rock it, Rose!
author: TiffanyRose Rossi's voice definitely earns the comparisons to Fiona Apple and Gwen Stefani, yet she makes sure to make the songs her own. Her funky, yet melodic voice will win over fans of both artists, as well as fans of spoken word poetry. "Hello to You" is an album I would listen to when I wanted to hear unique and reflective background music.
Sweet sounds
author: smalltown48Rose Rossi is a singer/songwriter who just wants to relate to the feelings and experiences of her listeners. This Los Angeles based artist has just released her debut album “Hello to you” that will explode the indy scene. Her sound crosses the board from Colbie Caillat to Jewel. Her sweet, strong lyrics are breathtaking.
Amazing voice
author: RockLove to listen to Rose Rossi. she has an amazing voice.
ROSE REVIEW
author: TaliaUpon first listen to Rose Rossi, she sounds unique from other artists. Her voice has a special, light flare to it, and she glides upon her lyrics, sliding from note to note in a legato motion. The voice is the main show of the song, and the other instruments merely accents it. The drums help to provide the steady rhythm that she sings over, telling her story. A bass guitar transition helps the lyrics to settle in. Although she is very unique from others, I could still compare her tone color to Avril Lavigne, in that she creates an alternative rock flavor by vocal inflection and elision of lyrics. For example, she also likes to elaborate on and repeat “hey,” as Avril repeats and elaborates upon “with you.”
Haunting and Quirky
author: PeterRose Rossi has a haunting quirky voice that makes her unique. Her relatable lyrics speak to that of every woman: songs about anger and love. Her music is a sweet and funky. The guitar rocks with the blues and the drums keeps the tempo raging to the finish of the song.
original style with a modern twist. this girl has got it!
author: karlaRossi brings her own style when it comes to her look combining elements of classic rock female icons with a modern twist . Her songs are driven by her overtly emotional lyrics that reflect her own life experiences. Rossi's first single, "Hello To You" represents her style perfectly with flowing and relaxed instrumentals driven by her unique voice and reflective lyrics. Rose Rossi stands out in the new movement of female driven, organic, acoustic pop rock that is currently saturating modern radio. Her voice carries alternative rock qualities similar to that of Gwen Stefani but also contains the soulful and folk sensibilities of artists such as Jewel and Colbie Callait.
She Rocks!
author: janaeRose Rossi Once I heard the first beats of “Fade”, I automatically pictured Fleetwood Mac. The instruments in Rossi’s songs bring them to life. She is probably my favorite artist so far. Her electrified voice in “There Is A Girl” reminds me of Gwen Stefani in No Doubt.

Her music is sweet and relaxing. It reminds me of a mellow Gwen Stefani. Her music has a smooth beat. The music focuses more on vocals and provides a small amount of musical accompaniment. Sometimes her music has a country feel, like in the beginning of “Counting Time” as well as “My World”. Overall her music is the perfect combination of attitude as well as sexuality.
This girl Rocks!
author: MsJessMacThis girl knows how to rock! Her spunk and attitude are really apparent in her songs “Fade” and “There is a Girl”. Her voice is a mix of Tegan and Sara, old Gwen Stefani, and Blondie. Listen to “Shut Down” and I promise you will be fan of Rose too!
Rose Rossi is awesome!
author: SteveAs many young children do, Rose grew up playing the piano, which had been encouraged by her creativity driven, Los Angeles, actor parents. Although she disliked practicing ad playing the piano she knew she loved music and at a young age made a deal with her mother to switch to the guitar. The rest as they say was history as by age 11 Rose Rossi had begun writing her own music and playing the piano once again under the instruction of music producer Cliff Brodsky. Unlike many artists of the time Rose describes her ascent in the music world as a natural progression, nothing was forced and her music comes from personal experiences. Even her live show incorporates her personality and experiences as she plays each song as if she had just written it and takes on the emotion and physicality of the moment inspiration had struck her for a given piece. Her influences are broad and worldly as she has been inspired by pop idols like No Doubt, Elvis and The Beatles, scholarly works from Contemporary African Politics to Italian Literature which she picked up at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, and finally from her travels to Florence and Sicily. Rose Rossi has made it a point throughout life to take herself out of her comfort zone to allow for growth and soul- searching that is evident in the songs of her debut album, "Hello to you." Songs off the album are as widely ranged as her influences from funky, crunchy, Nirvana inspired play on words that is "Shut Down" to a social narrative on the current status of women in society, (There is a Girl). Although Rose had at one point put her training on hold for school she never lost contact with Brodsky and that relationship allowed her to collaborate with him and allowed Cliff to form a record label around his flagship artist. The experiences are evident and the music is real for Rose, as she states “I want to have longevity, and I plan to tour and travel often. Seeing the world will give me more and more stories to tell through my music and I look forward to the freedom that comes with success. “I intend to keep creating a good repertoire of strong songs that will stand the test of time. I hope to be a strong female figure in rock music that inspires other people to write, be creative, and follow their passions in life.”
Rose = Awesome
author: CharleneRose Rossi has that kind of alternative-girl spunk that everyone adores. The thing is that she does not over-do it. She can sing a ballad just as well as she can sing a high-energy alternative song. Her songs reveal a certain vulnerability about herself that everyone can relate to because they are her honest feelings about everyday situations.
Great stuff!
author: FemkeRose Rossi’s debut album “ Hello to you” is an assembly of mellow and pop/rock tunes. From the mellow “I Am Trying” to the rocking “There is a girl”, het music is diverse and there’s a different sound with every new track. Rose’s voice sometimes resembles one of her inspirations: Gwen Stefani, ecpecially on “There is a girl”, a track about women today and the things they face in life. There’s a lot to her lyrics, some of them are just stories, while others are little autobiographies. That combined with the everpresent guitars and keyboard make this a quirky pop/rock which will definately go on my iPod
Inspirational and imaginative!
author: beccaHer music is nothing less than what her wild hopes had been calling for. Her album “Hello to You,” is much more than just a blend of her favorite artists, No Doubt, Blondie, and Fiona Apple, she seems to add her own twist to the music with her unique vocal performance and talented rhythm guitar tactics. In her songs she holds out just the right amount of notes to make the song leave an impact on whoever is listening. Her desire to perform only brings about more passion in the music and creates a charm on the listeners as she plays.
WOW talent
author: Devin BlixtVery talented young woman. It is always nice to hear fresh artists and something different for a change. She is comparable to Jewel but less folky and also fiona apple...whom I love. Rose is up and coming for sure
A new star

aMaZiNG!
author: Andrea MuesingRight away when I heard “Hello To You” I knew that I could definitely get into Rose Rossi. This is the kind of artist that fans are looking for, because her tracks are genuine and almost any (girl) could relate to the lyrics. I definitely hear the resemblance to Gwen Stefani and No Doubt in general, especially in “There Is A Girl.” But Rose Rossi makes it more sweet and traditional, in a good way. One of my faves was “I Am Trying” because the lyrics really let you see into her personality. Any listener, whether they are 15 to 45 can tie these lyrics into a life experience, and that is key in any artist’s journey.
Addictive songs
author: ClintThe whole album is full of great songs that you'll want to listen to over and over again, but I'm especially impartial to "Stars," which I can just put play on repeat over and over...
Hello to you
author: Peter StetterThe title should be the greeting to many people who love good music with heart and rhythm. Every track is worth listening! I am sure, this is the beginning of a long successful story. My favorits are "I am trying" and "Hello to you" and many more.
Great album
