notes

Combining equal parts of Classic Punk, Rockabilly, Modern Rock & the Melody of Elvis, The Rosedales are resurrecting everything that made 50's rock & roll so cool. Songs about chicks, hot-rods, ghouls & ghosts are all-original and involve no explicit lyrics. Many fans of The Misfits, Social Distortion and The Beach Boys are adding The Rosedales to their list of worshiped idols.

The Rosedales were known as The Onlys since the release of their debut recording, "Gravest Hits", on Friday, October 13th, 2000. After many successful shows in Chicago, Colorado and Wisconsin, The Onlys created a buzz in the haunted music community. In 2002, The Onlys became The Rosedales. The new name is based on the Legend of Rosedale Park in Chicago. Visit our website to learn the history of The Rosedales and the mystery surrounding haunted Rosedale Park.

The official release of The Rosedales full-length album finally arrived at the end of October 2003. The CD release party was held just before Halloween with special guest Dr. Chud from The Misfits. "Raise Your Spirits" includes ten original Rosedales songs including a remixed version of the hit song "Frozen Ghost" from The Onlys Gravest Hits. "Frozen Ghost" has been heard on radio stations in Ft. Collins-CO, Kenosha-WI, St. Louis-MO and on Q101's Local Music Showcase in Chicago.

The Rosedales travel to gigs in a Hot-Rod 1965 Cadillac Hearse. Known all across the Midwest as "The Ride of Frankenstein", this hot-rod hearse has been spotted at popular live music venues, record stores and cemeteries. With orange flames on the hood and a creepy coffin in the back, curious kids wonder if The Rosedales are a rock band or a group of evil super villains.

RAISE YOUR SPIRITS is indeed one of the best Misfits/50's inspired punk-n-roll albums I've ever heard. Although the band wears it's influences on their sleeves, they elevate their craft to a new level with beautifully arranged pop-punk melodies that include shimmering guitars and soaring vocal harmonies that almost bring a tear to your eye (If MOON GLOW doesn't move you, you may want to check your pulse). A must own for all Fiends and anyone that appreciates darn good no-frills rock and roll.

  • Fiendishly Good

Great CD! A Misfits, Beach Boys, pop-punk, goth, sock hop. Songs stick in your head (in a good way), whole CD has a unique vibe. I'd definitely buy more Rosedales music if I could find it...

  • Amazing Sound, Truely Unique
    author: Corey B.

This cd is just amazing. I listened to it about 6 times through when I first received it. My favorite tracks are 2,4,6,7 and 8. I'm not much of a fan of the Misfits or horror rock, but this album transcends all stereotypes with a truely unique sound. The harmony and vocal ranges are amazing. Can't wait for the next album. I have everyone out here in Califoria addicted.

  • Buy it Now

DEAD BEATS CERTIFIED: Raise Your Spirits is the real deal--haunting all the way. Horrorpunks take note. Listen to the first minute of 'Frozen Ghost' and if it doesn't grip you you are way more dead than most of us.

  • Best Horrorcore Band Around.
    author: Matty

I'd say one of the best albums i've ever heard. it seems to have everything. Also some of the best melodies i'll probably ever hear, i'll never put this cd down.

  • Press play - then stand well back!
    author: Lemo - Scotland

Just like the Phil Spectre(!) Wall of Sound - the music leaps out, hits you, grabs you and drags you in without mercy. What a journey... The lyrics, the music the whole album is a huge - scary but unmissable rush. When The Rosedales get an international hit I'm just going to say - Told You!

  • I hope you guys make it big!
    author: John

All I have to say is awesome sound! Very original and retro. I can't wait to hear new material from you guys. I hope you get a deal or some more recognition. This is truley a classic album in the horror rock scene. This should be on the radio.

  • Where were you when I needed you most?

This CD is incredible. I describe it as a cross between the Teen Idols (RIP) and the Misfits (Famous Monsters). The music is great and the harmonies...MY GOD THE HARMONIES! I plan to see these boys here in Chicago next week and I hope the live show can thrill me as much as the CD has.

  • Awesome effort!
    author: Amber

Great CD! It keeps getting better each time I listen to it. Good pop sensibility and melody combined with horror themed punk rock makes it a fantastic addition to any CD collection.

  • Totally enjoyable
    author: D.m

Being a fan of 50's rock n roll and also 50's horror movies I was totally impressed when I heard these guys - the album starts off rocking and finishes rocking! Plain and simple - its a rocking album! Punky, Haunted beach boys type stuff - and it rocks

  • GET THIS
    author: Cuwele

There is literally not one bad or filler type song on this entire album. This band could be so huge if given half a chance by radio or the know nothin' idiots at mtv. (IMO) They sound kinda like a cross between old Misfits and Weezer with great vocals, well worth the money so do yourself a favor and GET THIS.

  • Graveyard greatness!!!
    author: Brian Negative

The Rosedales are one of the most unique sounding bands in the horror rock genre, and the album "Raise Your Spirits" showcases all of their abilities. From the uptempo, poppy first track all the way to the albums close, you will be dancing like a zombie during Samhain. If you are a fan of the Rosedales, this cd is a must own. My favorite tracks are "Frozen Ghost", "In the Dark", and "So Ordinary". If you are in the Chicago area, go see these guys. You won't be disappointed.

  • Awesome shock-a-billy
    author: Alan

This CD is a must have for anyone into bands like Social Distortion, Misfits, Rocket from the Crypt.. The vocals are amazing! These ghouls know how to rock..
