Looking for something fresh and authentic in the Blues arena? Look no further than RCK's 2003 Release of Delta Hop. Rose City Kings are an all original band that takes the power of Country and Chicago Blues and melds it into a unique contemporary sound. There is something familiar yet new and exciting about this band.
Winner of the 2003 Cascade Blues Association's "Muddy Award" for Best New Act, RCK delivers it's energy filled soulful sound with a mix of Guitar, Keyboards, Harmonica Bass, Drums and Percussion. Their sonic textures are modeled after the classic sound of Muddy Waters and then filtered through today's experience.
The band is known for its energetic live perfomances, recently winning the 2004 CBA Journey to Memphis Competition, after competing against 9 other worthy regional bands. The band represented the Northwest Region in the February 2005 International Blues Challenge, creating quite a buzz on Beale Street.
The band's connection with the audience is incredible and this is not lost on this CD. No doubt it is a "family" affair where every performance each night is a great new experience for all involved. Rose City Kings fans are every bit as much a part of this music as the players themselves.
Hook yourself up to the RCK PARTY!!

Awesome Blues CD
author: rasjadI bought the CD because I heard Devil in My Shoes on KMHD's Friday Freeway Blues & I loved the bass line (my son plays bass, so I'm always on the look out for great bass lines). I was not disappointed. It's a great blues CD. Best part? They're from Portland which means they're a local band to me. I'll plan to go see them.
