Among the best ten CD's I've ever owned
author: Rachel RoachRooster Quantrell & The Border Raiders will take you on a trip back in time when good ol' western swing was the Big Thing. Rooster has a real voice, and I like it. His piano skills are superb (he's Mark Chesnutt's piano player and background vocalist). The album is filled with 20 fantastic tunes about western swing, Texas, The South and love. What I really love about this album is that the sound is pure and clear, and all the musicians who played on it are top-notch. They showed great taste laying down their tracks, and Col. Buster Doss did a wonderful job producing the album. I cannot fairly choose my favorite tracks because I love them all. Col. Buster Doss, who wrote all the songs, is a greatly underrated songwriter. I'm going to keep this CD with me forever, for those times I feel the need to listen to some great music. This one is among the best ten CD's I've ever owned, and I highly reccomend it to western swing and blues fans. Heck, I think even fans of light jazz would love it. One thing's for sure: if FM country radio ever went back to playing real, quality country music that was written and performed by musicians to please their listeners, this album would be on the airwaves. Rachel Roch ("Rascalita")
Nice stuff!
author: Randy RollmanGreat Western Swing - your steel player is hot! Glad to find something happening on the music scene that's not governed by the Nashville bean counters.

Textbook Western Swing - Performed by skilled musicians
author: Rick AlexanderThis is pretty good stuff - it ain't Bob Wills or Asleep At The Wheel, but it's competently performed and well recorded.
Great listening. Love you full sound. Western Swing done right.
author: Bill ParkerLots of great sounds that I haven't heard in a long time. Somewhere between Bob(the King)Wills & Asleep at the Wheel. Your band takes a back seat to no-one. Lots of good songs on the album. Great musicians. Very happy with the album.
