Low End Project
I’d like to thank you for listening to my CD. This is just music I had floating around in my head. These songs have been haunting me for quite some time. Along with God, having the support of my family and the help of the band I am in, WES The Power Trio, I was able to complete this CD. There are stories that go along with the songs and I will try to describe to you how the songs came to be.
While I was on the road with a group called Some Peoples Kids we were booked into a club in Dallas. Now this gig didn’t pay enough to get hotel rooms so the guys in the band rented a Winnebago and lived in the parking lot of the club. The club was in was a large building complex with offices and also a large disco. During the day I saw the people in suits come and go and at night the freaks came out. This is what inspired “Parkin’ Lot”.
“Crybass” comes from my heart. This song is dedicated Tom and Donny, two very close friends I lost this past year. I miss them so.
“Be a Star” is about being different or special. People will try to expose your differences to make them feel more in control and on top. Others who look down on you because you’re not like them makes your individuality shine.
“Blinders” is my statement about the way people in the world have been conditioned to look the other way.
“Eskolator” Finding yourself alone waiting for a bus in the middle of a cold night in Germany. Sometimes the sound of an empty escalator can be comforting.
Being in the band, WES The Power Trio, which takes you many places in the world. Just make sure that when you come back home your wife has not given your house keys to the neighbors to house sit for her and you don’t get them back. This is my insight to Keys”.
“Moon Walk” this was my mental picture when putting this tune together.
“Struggle” is about WES The Power Trio’s struggle to get to the next level. Being different and innovative sometimes is a threat to certain people that want to be the uninformed authority.
“Whales Calling” well, you hear the whales don’t you?
“Low End Project” a collection of bass tracks that work together, somewhat. Just having fun with my basses.
“Where to Shake it?” I love to watch women dance.
Thanks again for listening and check out the band I’m in WES The Power Trio.
