notes
My name is Ronnie Wayne, Bakersfield born and raised. I have 25 years in the music business, as a singer, songwriter, entertainer, promoter. I have been fortunate, as my associations in this business have been blessed.
I have had the extreme pleasure and opportunity to play music with several major talents such as; The Strangers (Merle Haggard), The Buckaroos (Buck Owens), Doug Supernaw, Mark Chestnutt, Keith Whitley, Big House, Smokin Armadillos, Steve Earl, Bellamy Brothers, Billy Mize, Flying Burrito Brothers, Elvin Bishop and Texas Troubadours (Ernest Tubb).
As a promoter of major acts in the Bakersfield Area My band and I were privledged to open for; Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Collie, Chris LeDoux, Marshall Tucker, Buck Owens, John Anderson, Grand Funk Railroad, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakum, Clint Black, Lorie Morgan, Johnny Lee, Diamond Rio, Don Williams, Billy Ray Cyrus, Gene Watson, Elvin Bishop, John Conlee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Earl Thomas Conley, Janie Fricke, Charle McClain, Noel Haggard and Ty Herndon.
I have visited Nashville twice and both trips were rewarding and memborable. I performed ASCAP Songwriter Showcases with Garth Brooks, prior to his signing.
I have recorded (2) CD's that are all original music and lyrics. My latest CD, titled "Barstools and Dreams" is a heartfelt, realistic account of many years playing in honky tonks and bars in the Bakersfield and surrounding areas. The tracks are a 90's version of the "Bakersfield" sound that was developed in the 60's and 70's by Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Each song was written with a story in mind.
This CD has been described as joint jumping, dance floor crowding, two steppin, whoopin it up, drinking up the energy, screaming out blue's and blood, low and powerful, like a river at floodtide, somehwere between Fresno and pergatory, big sky blues, rockin, funkin, chickin pickin, ten steppin glide to honky tonk heaven, like white line fever, like a rolling stone.
Also described as; Country music with appeal, charm, endless talent, energetic, footstompin, countryfied, party till the cows come home, good looking band with a future.
My desire in releasing this music is that those of you who have experienced my music, enjoy it, as much as I do.
