“A masterpiece of creative blues writing” - Canadian Blues. Campbell’s husky voice (think Leon Redbone) delivers well-crafted, often hilarious lyrics over an energetic Delta-inspired blues/roots groove full of acoustic slide guitar and wailing harmonica.

notes
Ron Campbell is a singer/songwriter from Powell River, BC, Canada. His second CD "Pure Blues Guy" features acoustic guitar, harmonica and drums, all played by Campbell, and string bass played by Gord Jolie. Recorded in 2001, the CD includes eleven original blues songs as well as Robert Johnson's "Traveling Riverside Blues" and Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love". Like Campbell's first CD, the style here is very Delta Blues-influenced: lots of slide guitar and blues harp, and raw passionate vocals.
'... a solid selection of songs. "Chick Flick" is an instant classic. The piano-harp boogie on "Delivery Man" is instantly likeable. "Canadian Tune" is authentic blues guitar playing, however "God Watches Over You And Me" is the truest Delta song on the CD. It features inspiring slide guitar, moanin' and the required religious subject matter. In summary, the recording is a masterpiece of creative song writing and features some fertile Delta blues playing.'
