(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

Recorded live at various gigs in 2003, includes some tunes from his earlier studio albums, but Campbell's blues/roots style is even rawer and more intense here. Audience reaction to the acoustic slide guitar and wailing harmonica keeps the energy high.

notes

LIVE plus One is the third Delta Blues CD from guitarist/singer Ron Campbell. 12 tracks from his 2003 tour, plus the studio recording of Campbell's most well-known song 'This Is Not Spam'.

LINER NOTES:
"These songs were recorded live at various coffeehouses, churches, theatres and house concerts during the spring of 2003. They are solo performances, except for Tracks 11 and 12, where I was joined on stage by the talented Ron Irving. Though not 'studio quality' sound, they do capture the magic that only comes from playing for a live audience.
Here’s what my music was like at this time - I hope you enjoy it!"
- Ron C.

REVIEWS:
"Ron Campbell sings and plays the blues like he was reared in the Mississippi Delta. He looks like the quiet reticent schoolteacher, [but] when he picks up that guitar and sings, he becomes a blues superman. If you love the blues like I do, you won't want to waste any time picking up this platter."
- Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck.

"Ron Campbell graced blues fans with his one-man show last Thursday ... a tremendous crowd pleaser ... From fast-paced guitar licks to slow pleasant notes, I was overwhelmed with his unique talent. His Composition 'Blinded By Need', captured the pain of a husband losing his wife. Powerful lyrics like 'She's so tired of the pain / She yearns to be free', left the audience in silence. Campbell kept the audience involved through to the last note of a show that lasted over two hours and left them longing for more."
- Prince George Citizen.

"Ron Campbell put on a great performance - this man can put out the Delta Blues sound! ... a great, smooth show; the first half sitting down as one might expect of an old blues player hammering out the melodies on a shiny resonator guitar, the second set standing up as Ron switched between 12 string and resonator guitar. An excellent mix of traditional songs, and originals done in the Delta style. This is a show blues fans should not miss."
