Joe Romersa worked with Eden Ahbez, the songwriter of "Nature Boy", and was a close friend for many years.
When Ahbez died, his drums were given to Joe.
On this CD, Joe plays the Ahbez drums live in the studio. All sounds are produced from these drums, with exception of track 6, which is more of a modern combination of a drum kit, samples and then the Ahbez drums riding on top.
The vibe of this CD is exotic and primitive. Perfect for soundtracks or spiritual meditation.
The rhythms tell a story, starting off slow, then climaxing, and returning safely back to Earth.
The deep, rich sounds of these drums are best heard on a system that can handle bass response.
