notes

Rollercoaster 23 are ready with the follow up to their previous, critically acclaimed album, "the trick is to keep breathing". It took them more than two years to finish and the result shows. They have taken the elements which formed the foundation of their previous releases, added new and old touches and explored new territories to revive the memory of the 80's in their own way.
All four band members are huge fans of 80's music, which is the driving inspiration behind their project. It is surprising that anyone in this band actually has time to write music, since all the members are involved in either studio work, record company duties, other bands, or all three. However, on the new album, "music for the people", we see a more mature Rollercoaster 23 taking a slight departure from where they left off. RC23 have captured their own, unique sound, and yet manage to pull something new out of a time that most people have buried in the garden alongside their spandex pants and hairspray.

Their previous release, "the trick is to keep breathing", gained them a spot on the Noorderslag festival, plus concerts with bands like Velvet Belly and Hooverphonic to name a few. The album received
critical acclaim in the Dutch Music circles:
"... quality that is meant to keep fascinating..." Oor
"... a special band... beautiful songs... 9 out of
10!..." Bassic Groove Magazine
"... one of the most refreshing bands of the
Netherlands..." Platomania

It's like a memory of a good time, you take the best elements and mix it with what is happening right now, and get the best of both worlds. The best thing to do is actually stop reading this and listen for yourself....
