Rod was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland. His family moved back to Nova Scotia when Rod was six. The traditional Maritime music was passed on to him and his eleven brothers and sisters by his father. Rod moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1982 where he lives today. The Folk scene in Calgary continues to be vibrant and provides Rod with a great opportunity to play and share traditional music..............
