Rocky Gordon has been an emerging jazz saxophonist on the rise for several years.
This is Rocky's finest selection of ten original compositions and one cover of
a Sarah Mclachlan classic.
Three of Rocky's originals were produced by Tom Schuman, acclaimed keyboardist / producer, and co-founder of the legendary contemporary jazz group, Spyro Gyra.
Several of these selections are destined for airplay, with a few gems sure to become signature songs in contemporary jazz.
Rocky compliments each selection with mature and lyrical solos, matched by a fine list of competent musicians, including Schuman himself being featured.
This is definitely one of the most creative albums to come along in a long time, and not to be pidgeon-holed into a few predictable catagories, but as a merit of its own unique identity.
