Great Voice
author: JoanThis is one of the best cd's I have purchased. Rich with sophicated simplicity and pure vocals, this album is a must have. I can't recommend this album enough. Try it! You will love it!
Fabulous singing
author: KillianI was concerned when given this CD, not another jazz wanna be, you know the kind that sings without any soul. Rob Dorn proved this vocal snob wrong. He has control over his pacing and and you feel his passion coming through his voice. This man loves to croon. I will follow Dorn into the future. Bravo!
This cd is a wish come true!!
author: Laurie DuncanI had never heard Rob before this cd, and now I feel like his biggest fan! He has a way of making each song his own, and his arrangements are very imaginative! I especially love Over the Rainbow, as I am a big Ink Spots fan. And, Mama a Rainbow made me cry. Can't wait for his next cd!
This kid CAN sing -- AND swing!
author: T.J. ForresterRob Dorn’s “I’m Wishing” CD is one of the best jazz and easy-listening vocal albums I’ve heard in years. Not only does Dorn’s voice capture a unique melancholy tenderness (a la Bill Kenny and Chet Baker) required of each classic standard like “Stranger in Paradise,” “You Are Too Beautiful,” “Crying,” “Fairy Tales,” “Over The Rainbow,” and the title track “I’m Wishing,” but this is also one contemporary crooner who can also swing his ass off! Although other musical musings like “Something’s Coming,” “Giants in the Sky,” “Not While I’m Around,” and “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” come directly from The Great White Way, Dorn has successfully arranged and recorded these classics to drift effortlessly across your stereo speakers without bashing you over the head -- or bombarding you with Broadway. This is truly one easy-listening album that IS what it’s supposed to be -- easy to listen to -- thanks to the vibrant vocal variations of song-stylist Rob Dorn. Dorn has also done a fantastic job in recruiting some of the finest jazz and studio musicians in the Midwest to accompany him on this project. The tasty piano of Dan Chouinard, Gary Gimmestad and Tom Mustachio blend effortlessly with the bass of Bruce Calin and drums of Dave Hansel to create an anchor-steady rhythm section which is then recorded and mixed to perfection (thanks to Matthew Zimmerman, Gary Gimmestad and Dorn himself) along with such talented side players as David Singley (guitar), Peter Ostroushko (violin and mandolin), and Mark Henderson (flute and sax). As a jazz aficionado I have recommended Rob Dorn’s “I’m Wishing” CD to many of my friends, and they have all come back to me with the same reaction, mainly stating that “you were right, this kid CAN sing -- AND swing!”
The lyrics reach down deep and stir the imagination.
author: Kenny LewisRob Dorn has a promissing future as a vocal performer and solo artist. The lyrics and music awaken the essence of self in a unique and engaging way. Enjoy the jouney and put this cd on your wish list.

Music to My Ears!
author: Cori BlauwI am only 13, but i know good music when I hear it. From the time I was born my mom has always told me about music and the different styles. To me this CD is a great representation of different music types. I really enjoyed this Cd and hope there will be many more from Rob, just like this one. I also hope that many people will listen to this Cd and will be able to appreciate the the heart and soul Rob poured into it.
