"Robbie represents the struggle of the artist. The opennness and sensitivitiy that fueled his creativity and musical vision, left him vulnerable in the face of the harsh reality of life in a hard-nosed business." - Jim Byrnes

When Robbie King passed away in October of 2003. Vancouver lost one of its most brilliant, colourful and best loved musicians. Robbie’s session credits included a who’s who of national and international stars, including Bryan Adams, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Tina Turner, Jerry Doucette, Jim Byrnes, the Hometown Band, Powder Blues, to name but a few.

In addition to his innumerable sessions as a keyboard player and producer, Robbie King was arguably Canada’s foremost voice on the Hammond organ. His approach to voicings, harmony and syncopation were always unique. This album presents him for the first as a leader, in a trio setting playing just the Hammond with guest appearances by some very talented musical friends.

Aero has decided to release this album, with part proceeds from its sale benefiting the Robbie King Fund-to aid musicians who are experiencing hard times.
