notes
The bands’ first album for the label is a staggering concoction that blends sounds of Capt. Beefheart with the early blues of Jethro Tull and adds a dose of real Chicago to it.
The Salford twins, Chris and Tony, and the band have spent a while recording this and it shows in this heady cocktail!
In Mike ‘Uncle Dinners’ Bowden they have a great front man and voice that tops off a great band of twin guitars and superb rhythm section.
All original bar one** this is an exciting debut album that will beg for repeat plays as each song demands your attention!......... Nuff said!!
The only ‘cover’ on the album is the wonderful ‘Soul of a Man’**
** The one track is titled ‘Soul of a Man’ written by Blind Willie Johnson and recently included on Eric Burden’s latest album release of which it is the title track.
It is also to be heard as the theme song to national TV advertising campaign for Alfa Romeo as a re-mixed track by Sister Rosetta Tharpe especially for the advert. The original Sister album is scheduled for re-release by Document Records following this popular airing.
So do catch a listen to this superb version by
The Roach Twins Band.
